Mwiinde suffers LCL injury

Zambian striker Emmanuel Mwiinde suffered a knee injury over the weekend after he tore his lateral collateral ligament.

Mwiinde suffered the partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament over the weekend in Al Salam’s 2-0 loss to Zafar club.

The former Nkana striker is expected to be out of action for six to twelve weeks.

Mwiinde has had a brilliant start to the 2024/2025 Oman First Division League season making four goal contributions in his opening three games for Al Salam (three goals and an assist).

The former ZANACO striker joined the Oman outfit late in September and has been on fire since his debut.

Mwiinde has penned a season long deal with the club after leaving United Arab Emirates outfit Masafi.

The former Zambia U20 striker was Masafi’s top goalscorer last season with 8 goals and 4 assists in 25 matches despite playing as a left winger.
