Zambia national team skipper Enock Mwepu has been ruled out of the back-to-back Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against Equatorial Guinea.
Mwepu sustained a groin injury during warm-up before a Carabao Cup game that saw Brighton and Hove Albion beat Swansea City 2-0 on 22nd September.
Chipolopolo Boys team Doctor George Phiri has also revealed that Striker Evans Kangwa sustained a hamstring injury and is doubtful for the away game.
“Generally the players are doing fine and fit except for two players. Enock Mwepu has been ruled out of the two games due to a groin injury. Evans Kangwa has reported in camp, suffered a hamstring injury. He might miss this game but will definitely be ready for the home game. He is on light training and we are managing,” Dr. Phiri said.
Zambia hosts the Nzalang Nacional on October 10, 2021, in a Group B clash which will kickoff at 18:00 hours. The Chipolopolo is away to Equatorial Guinea on Thursday in the first of the double-header clash during this round of qualifiers.
Tickets for the home game are already available for sale across all Shoprite outlets via Computicket with the lowest priced ticket pegged at K30 (South& North Wings).
The rest of the charges are K50 (East Wing), K75 (West Wing), and K250 (VIP).

Can Chambeshi consider Kalaba ???
They knew he is injured they still considered him a bunch of fools running zambia football…it was better if they called up klings kangwa lameck banda or Francisco
Quality players on bench not wena chipante chipante boys..
Chambeshi is not even a coach y not including kalaba must we always rely on mwepu and daka and y should Solomon sakala be considered over tandi mwape sure ba chipantepante coach abo
Kalaba doesnt even play regularly pa TP Mazembe. He’s basically entering chesha homes for the aged. We have other players out there but our faz and technical bench luck seriousness to go out there and get players who deserves to be in the national team.
So what is really behind the scene that the majority of the fans don’t know….that the the players we consider seniors have been neglected and left in the back door?
You knew very well that Mwepu is not fit yet you had to include him for what?
Klings iss injured with a hamstring what makes you so sure that he will be fully fit for the home game? Cause one thing for sure is that a player from injury can not perform to his full abilities yet you still pick him. Awe shuwa kuwayawaya fye
Chipolopolo Zambian
Please call back kalaba
