Mbesuma scores in Aces loss

Collins Mbesuma scored his 14th goal of the season but it was not enough to help his Mpumalanga Black Aces team win as they went down 4 – 2 to Golden Arrows.

Aces started well with Mbesuma converting a penalty in the fourth minute before Mosemaedi added another in the 51st minute for Aces to lead 2 – 0.

Malawian Frank Mhango came on as a 36th minute substitute and he did not waste time to start the come back for Arrows as he scored four times in the 41st, 44th, 59th and 70th minutes.

The loss sees Aces miss a chance to move third on the log as they stay in 5th position.

Mbesuma will however be happy to have extend his lead on the top scorers chart as he inches close to 100 goals in South Africa. He has so far scored 98 goals.

Kennedy Mweene and Davies Nkausu where not in the Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic teams which played to respective goalless draws on Wednesday.

  1. Other news_ TP and Vita’s league encounter which was marred by several ugly incidents on the field and acts of vandalism ended in a goalless draw in Kinshasa yesterday. Some TP players were allegedly injured by ill-disciplined Vita’s fans. Could Zamfoot check if Kalaba and Sinkala who both played are safe? Since Katumbi joined the opposition, he has become the main target of the ruling party…TP is paying the price. That’s Africa!!!

  2. Mbesuma’s team, Black Aces has a very weak midfield and defence especially in recent games. These have only themselves to be where they are on the PSL log standings. Inasmuch Mbesuma is scoring goals, I feel bad for him that his team is not doing well of late.

  3. Mbesuma has scored a brace already this season, he doesn’t play for a big team and he’s no longer the Mbesuma he used to be 10 years ago, so don’t expect too much from him .
