Chipolopolo striker Emmanuel Mayuka has been ruled out of the game against Cape Verde to be played on Monday evening.
FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya confirmed that the Southampton striker will not recover in time for the final group stage game for the Chipolopolo.
“Unfortunately, [the] Doctor says Mayuka [is] out of the Cape Verde match,” Kalusha stated.
The striker sat out the Saturday training session with team doctor Joseph Kabungo stating that he was in pain.
He injured his groin in a desperate effort to convert a Rainford Kalaba cross on Thursday against Tunisia in a game he scored Zambia’s lone goal.
He has been used as the lead striker for Zambia in the first two games at the Africa Cup of Nations and led the line for Zambia through the qualifiers.
Janza has the option of pushing prolific striker Given Singuluma, who has played in midfield so far, in a more advanced position or could turn to Ronald Kampamba, Patrick Ngoma or Jackson Mwanza to partner Evans Kangwa who gave a good account of himself in the game against Tunisia.
Zambia will also be without vice captain Nathan Sinkala who has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

It has to be Given and Evans, or most troublesome strikers.
If Evans is not effective Janza should go with the young boy Ngoma, he should have the pace to run rings around cape verde. Then through Sate on at the death.
If Janza is is going to leave Chisamba off the starting lineup he has to bring him on at some stage of the game, Chisamba is only ball carrier not in the starting line up and is an automatic choice to give the guys extra support! The tempo will slow in the game and Chisamba is only player Janza can call to bring it back up.
please Janza read the game especially when we need to freshen things up.that performance was excellent vs Tunisia. I didn’t see it coming if I’m hinrst.they amount of chances we created was incredible
Janza needs to push Singuluma up front and partner him with Kangwa. If I were Janza I would also introduce another midfielder like Sautu or Donashano to partner Mtonga in central midfield while keeping Kalaba and Lubambo in the wings. The back of Nkausu, Munthali, Sunzu and Mbola remains, though Mbola seems to be making a lot of mistakes. But we have no choice. Mbola is tried and tested and so we can’t gamble and bring in Robdrick Kabwe.
Just pack the bags and come home. No Team here
tc soccerman lol!
New wailer o the blog.
Come now, why are you going to start calling me a wailer? I am just saying based on how I see things with this team. Thanks
We hav to beat Cape Verde at least 2-0. If we play like the way we played against Tunisia in the first half then we definitely will Win this one.
WOW! So Rehnard has drawn 6 consecutive Afcon finals games since Semis in 2012.
Janza should be able to read the game and make necessary substitutions at the right time. If he can’t, let those bazungus Kalu has employed to do it for him (read the game)! Some people are still wasting their time talking about Renard! At least he was sober minded unlike the president!

I have decided to replacing given wt chisamba coz given tends to lose himself in midfield n he can’t run wt th ball n take on players wic chisamba cn do but his weaknesses r not shooting n “poor” back passes…upfront sate sate n evans hv beta understandn,Evans is a beta number 10 lookin at how he exchanged position wt wingers..in th second half if we leading(we dnt hav problem scoring bt defendn leadn) replace sate sate wt malama to move to 4 5 1 wt two defensive mids in mtonga n malama
Herve Renard and ivory Coast must start packing they can’t beat Cameroon. Gervinho their best player is suspended they won’t beat Cameroon. Zambia has a better chance of qualifying.
Zambia is qualifying. Lubambo musonda and kalaba will destroy cape verde
Rainford kalaba is the luka modric of Africa he is the best passer of the ball in africa. If zambia continues at this rate I expect some top clubs in europe and China will offer this guy a big money move to end his career. Look at the pass he gave Mayuka for the goal. That pass was pure genius and class.
Now that we have a President, our boys will solely focus on the game and will massacre Cape Verde. Ni tiyeni tiyeni tiyeni tiyeni tiyeni tiyeni tiyeni nayooooooooo!!!!!
We r winning the game ZAM3_CVD1
Go Zambia Goal.
Good luck Zambia. Mr. Janza, just replace injured Mayuka in your starting line up today and we may win the game today.
Let’s be positive people, even if we insult we won’t change anything my people. he’s our coach for the moment. we may turn tables.let’s finish the last fight then we can blame the coach.munsansa na muma cushi we r behind u.watch out Cape VERDE.TONIGHT our GLORY. let’s go BOYS.CHIPOLOPOLO IYEeee chipolopolo. we are qualifying.
MASTER KALABA u r the captain ,do it the way u did to TUNISIA. MUPASHI don’t be short_tempered, u r the ROLE MODEL for the TEAM &YOUR COUNTRY ZAMBIA. CVD RELAX give us three points.U CNT go anywhere. let former CHAMPS do it again.COACH pls LEAD THE GAME AND MAKE SuBS where necessary. chipolopolo I yeeeeeeeeeeeeeh! ZAMBIA 3_1CAPE VERDE.
Good Mayuka is out, too much ma offside, fouls and ukufilwa kwati ni kalukungu football. Let Evans Kangwa partner Singuluma upfront while Sautu and Chisamba be considered in this game. Cape Verde are quick so Sunzu and Munthali should be very alert. Munthali impressed me in Tunisia game so let him pick it up from there!! Tulewina…iyeeee… imwee zoona via kabova singing!
It will be the coach who will out-strategise the other who is going to carry the day at the end of the day. Both teams are going for nothing short of victory. I am glad that Janza is finally assuring us that he has ‘studied’ the weaknesses and strengths of the opposition and I hope his study will yield positive results.
Whilst our boys will be expected to play total attacking football, they should never move their guard as their opponents will also be playing to win. Strikers should be collected and composed and not be in a hurry to shoot as they may not produce as many obvious scoring chances as they created against Tunisia suffice to say we should try to take any goal scoring opportunity like we will never get another one. In short, our strikers should not be wasteful in front of goal. We should not feel inferior to any team let alone Cabo Verde as, at this moment, no team has qualified and any team can qualify. This is one game the Chipolopolo should show character and shoot down the sharks. A positive result from this game will attract attention from the soccer scouts and we should not miss out here.
Good luck Chipolopolo.
what is wrong with zamfoot? zambia has a match today and you are failing to update your countrymen..it seems you run this site on part~time
