Match ratings: Kenya 2-1 Zambia

The Zambia national team on Friday afternoon suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Harambee Stars away in Kenya.

Emmanuel Chabula came from the bench to score Zambia’s goal and the referee denied Zambia a clear goal in very unclear circumstances.

Didn’t command his area in terms of Set pieces and looked unconvincing for the whole man.Could have done better on the second goal by Closing down the forward much quicker.

Looked good on the ball and he locked down his side of the pitch. Had a shot of time and made some good runs inside and out.Could solve our problems at Right back. 7/10

Zacharia Chilongoshi 23
Unconvincing performance by the new power Dynamos man. His output on the far end of the pitch was poor and he did not lock down his side of the pitch as Kenya run down his channel a lot in the first half. Solid Second half display has redeemed him from having a really poor performance.

Tandi Mwape 2
Dominated in the air for most parts of the game. Had some Chances to score from set-pieces but his finishing was poor. Scored an own goal in the first half which unsettled him for the rest of the match.

The Captain looked unfit and did not command his troops when they needed him the most in the first half. Needed to show more Leadership qualities.

His passing was too predictable today and he went sideways when what was needed was verticality. His pressing was off and he did not pick up there number 10 most of the time putting the defense under pressure. 3/10

Was not aggressive enough in the middle of the pack and the Kenyan Midfielders run the Midfield instead of him destroying the middle of the pack.

Was taken out of the game and he did not occupy the half-space properly.

Was very active in the first half as he made a couple of runs behind the Kenya Defense.

Evans Kangwa 8
Did not trouble the Kenyan Defense as he was drifting coming inside the pitch trying to Pick up the ball. It was going to be better if he stays with there defenders and tried to give him a run for there money.

Fashion Sakala 10
Just like his compatriot on the other side, Fashion did not occupy the half-space and make those runs inside for him to give Chilongoshi space to operate in. When that happened he had a chance and it was offline. His was lively for most parts of the game but his finishing product was poor .4/10

Much better performance from the typical number 9, he came in and did the exact thing that Evans kangwa was failing to do which stayed in the box and occupy the two center halves. Very Good Goal.

Another game, Another Assist for the new Zesco United man. He was difficult to pick up in the second when he came in and caused a lot of problems for the Kenyan players. Good assist.

Got his tactics wrong in the First half by playing two defensive Midfielders. His failure to react to the game situations in the first half was his downfall and though we dominated the game we did not threaten the Kenyan defense for most parts of the game.
