Mandu on the Radar: Three MTN Super League Sides Eye Red Arrows Midfielder

Red Arrows midfielder George Mandu has attracted interest from three MTN Super League sides, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

Mandu has not had a lot of game time in the recent past with the Airmen, hence clubs have been monitoring his situation at Nkoloma Stadium, with one promoted side very keen to add the diminutive midfield ace to their roster.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that the Airmen could be willing to allow Mandu to move away on loan under the right conditions.

Mandu, who is nicknamed Iniesta, joined the Airmen back in 2013 and has spent the last 12 years with the Zambia Air Force-sponsored outfit.

The boy from Lusaka’s Kuku township rose through the ranks of youth football in the area, playing for the now-defunct Toyas 90′ before joining Golden Milling.

Mandu then joined K-Stars, a team started by former FAZ President and 1988 African Footballer of the Year, Kalusha Bwalya, before moving to Chelstone to join the Zambia Air Force-sponsored outfit.

Mandu has won two league titles and two ABSA Cup titles during his time at Red Arrows.

Mandu was part of the team that went to play Coca-cola international games in South Africa in 2012 and came out tops. In the same year Zambia hosted the Zone-6 games which he was also part of and won silver alongside the likes of Mangani Banda,Patrick Ngoma, Langson ‘Adiyah’ Mbewe and Chibuye T. Mulilo
