Defender Kabaso Chongo has left Kabwe Warriors after buying out the remainder of his contract and he is now a free agent, The club has confirmed.
Chongo is now expected to join a new club before the start of the 2025/2026 MTN Super League season.
CAF Confederation Cup representatives ZESCO United and record 13 time Super League Champions, Nkana are both interested in the services of the former TP Mazembe defensive kingpin.
Chongo joined the Magnificent people’s team in February 2024 penning a two year deal after leaving DR Congo giants, TP Mazembe.
At Mazembe, Kabaso won eight trophies, the Champions League in 2015, two CAF Confederation Cup titles, (2016 and 2017) and 5 Congolese championship titles.

Kabwe Warriors Football Club and Kabaso Chongo have reached a mutual agreement to part ways, effective immediately. Chongo has exercised the option to buy out the remainder of his contract, allowing both parties to pursue new opportunities.
The club appreciates Kabaso’s contributions and wishes him well in his future endeavors. We thank him for his dedication and commitment during his time with Kabwe Warriors FC.
This decision is amicable, and both parties have agreed to maintain a positive relationship.
