The Malawi President Dr Lazarous Chakwera held a state banquet on Thursday night for all the participating teams in the inaugural Four Nations Tournament taking place in Lilongwe.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) head of delegation Chrispin Kamuna and head coach Avram Grant led the Zambian contingent at the banquet held at the Kamuzu Presidential Palace.
The occasion was flavoured with cultural music and performances with the four participating nations getting a surprise musical package of their country by the brass band.
More than being a football event, the banquet was an open show of African brotherhood by the four nations that share a historical bond.
The Four Nations Tournament was conceived by the four association presidents on the sidelines of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Zambia plays the Warriors of Zimbabwe tomorrow (Saturday) at the Bingu National Stadium at 14:00 hours while the Flames will face off with the Harambe Stars at 17:00 hours at the same venue.
Winners of the two matches on Saturday will square off on Tuesday at 17:00 hours in the final while the losing sides will contest the third and fourth play-off at 14:00 hours on the same day in an early kickoff.
