MTN Super League side Lumwana Radiants have written to the World Football Governing body, FIFA concerning their recent transfer ban.
Lumwana was among a number of African teams banned from registering players by FIFA for failure to fulfill contractual obligations.
The Club has however written to FIFA seeking clarity over the matter stating that they were not informed of any complaints.
Lumwana took to social media to confirm the development as monitored by the ZamFoot Crew.
The North Western Province based outfit says it’s committed to resolving this matter through the appropriate channels.
“Lumwana Radiants Football Club wishes to inform its supporters that we have officially responded to FIFA regarding the recent registration ban. We have requested details and clarification on the reasons behind the decision, as we were not previously notified of any complaint. We remain committed to resolving this matter through the appropriate channels and will keep you updated.Thank you for your continued support.”
Should the ban stand, Lumwana will not be able to register players for three consecutive player registration periods until January, 2027.
Relegated Indeni were the last Zambian club to be banned from registering players by the world football governing body for. The Ndola-based outfit have gone without registering new players for two straight player registration periods and will only be able to sign and register players in the next transfer window.
