Local players back from Iraq mission

By FAZ Media

The all-local assemblage of the Chipolopolo boys has arrived from Iraq where they played an international friendly on Friday in Baghdad.

Zambia lost 3-1 to a full-strength Iraq squad at the packed 33, 000 Al Madina Stadium.

Coach Aljosa Asanovic will now shift focus to the two international friendly matches during the international window.

The Chipolopolo will head to Europe for assignments on March 24 and another five days later.

Only a few local players, Tanzania and South Africa based players will head to Europe and link up with the European based players.

The Iraq friendly was being used as an opportunity to gauge local players ahead of CHAN qualifiers that commence in June/July.
Asanovic handed five players debut national team caps on the Iraq assignment.
