Euro Pros Sunday Wrap: Wins for Fashion Sakala, Patson Daka & Edward Chilufya..draw for Lameck Banda

The ZamFoot Crew takes a look at how some of Zambia’s exports to Europe faired for their respective clubs.

England

Patson Daka was an 86th minute substitute in Leicester City’s 2-1 win over Brentford in the English Premiership.

The Chipolopolo forward came-on for Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho to make his 15th league appearance.

First-half strikes by James Maddison and Tomothy Castagne were enough for the Foxes to claim an important win despite Yoane Wissa’s late goal for the visitors.

Patson Daka has scored 10 goals across all competitions.

Scotland

Fashion Sakala played the last 45 minutes in Glasgow Rangers’ 1-2 win away at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

Having fallen behind to an early goal, Rangers got their equalizer through former Juventus and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who tapped-in from very close range just after half-time.

Sakala, who made decent runs around the final third had a quiet game by his standards.

Rangers eventually sealed all 3 points courtesy of Connor Goldson’s finish with 4 minutes left on the clock to cut Celtics lead at the summit to 3 points.

Fashion Sakala has scored 10 goals across all competitions.

Denmark

Edward ‘Tiger’ Chilufya made his third successive appearance as FC Midtjylland edged out Silkeborg by a goal-to-nil.

Chilufya was introduced at halftime and nearly made an instant impact.

Nine minutes after the restart, the quick winger brilliantly evaded his maker’s challenge after a diagonal throughball was played to him on the right. But having lost his balance, he could only shoot wide of the right post past the on-rushing keeper inside the box.

Midtjylland eventually broke the deadlock deep in injury time thanks to Hentik Dalsgaard’s goal.

Edward Chilufya is yet to open his goal account for The Wolves.

Israel

Lameck Banda put-in a 90 ninety minutes shift as Maccabi Petah Tikva recorded 1-1 draw at Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona in a league relegation play-off match of the Ligat Ha’al.

Ido Shahar’s goal just before half time for Tikva was cancelled out by the hosts nine minutes after the restart for the game to end in a stalemate.

Lameck Banda is on a season long loan from Russian Premiership side, Arsenal Tula.

He is Tikva’s leading goal scorer with 7 goals and two assists in the league this season.
