Southampton coach Ronald Koeman has finally broken his silence on striker Emmanuel Mayuka stating clearly that the Zambian has no future at the club.
Koeman made his intentions known on the striker when he left him out of the preseason and subsequently gave Mayuka’s first team number to another player. He added that the Saint’s Executive Director has already received inquiries on the striker who still has two years on his contract with Southampton.
Koeman on Mayuka: ‘We have enough strikers and for Mayuka there is no future in the club. There is some contact with Les Reed about him’
Zambianfootball.co.zm understands that Mayuka’s agent was working on a move to Russia though visa issues delayed his departure from the country.

Today on 5 FM 89.5 fm Tembwe will be talking football but the time am not sure. Lets hope he will talk about the new coach who is secrete to fans , Ba Nkweto we don’t want you start threatening potential stakeholders. Like no FAZ will ban who and who we will burn you too. Its about developing our game with one goal to qualify to the world cup which has never happen in the history of Zambia. Shalom
Can Mayuka blame his coach or himself????
Uhm Uhm; Iyeee imweee?
Mayuka will come right. He just needs another club which will give him game time. To me Mayuka remains our top striker at the moment. You can’t even compare tu bena Daka, Sate Sate, etc to Mayuka. The guy will come right. Its just a matter of time. We all go through bad times in life. All the best Mayuka.
Stop bashing soton or koeman, mayuka has himself to blame…english teams loan thier less fancied players to other leagues or get them play in the league cup n Fa cup to get more game time…if u cant have a good game against colchester, pourtsmouth,MK Dons, lille, nancy e.t.c how can u expect to play against everton, arsenal, chelsea etc
Lets hope he miraculously comes back in form but in ALL honesty he has none to blame but himself.. How many goals did he bang in ku Sochaux? When a coach who sees you like a son benches you ninshi kaya what yu are doing..Im I the only one who saw how many dead balls he missed in the game against Tunisia u afon?? Even in the smallest matches at soton sure olo biu yeka?? Eh!!
it will be good for him to move to another club where he will have game time instead of warming the bench for two years
At a moment just when I thought all the remaining bloggers on Zamfoot were mature individuals whose comments were well thought out and analysed here comes this comment goshh!!!!!
Ala naine echo ndepapa Ba Steve, kaaa! Some bloggers, awee kwena.
Ine manje ndoleshakofye, as my storage of comments is empty
We know that Justice Kafusha napwa, just like Zambian players… what can we do apart from holding PRAYER-RALLY for the players?
All the way from top striker Katongo down to goalkeeper Mweene, ni sunami
kikikikikijkikikikikii
Haha kabili bena Nostra imwe muli ba muyaya kwati ni ba mudala ba KK, tukami mona ba mwine
Hahaha
Good luck, hopefully this was a learning process, just believe in yourself and you will come back strong, just stay focus, put that money in the bank..its time to play not to spend. When the time is right you will spend your earnings. I hope you are now pissed at the treatment in England and hopefully you come back strong and prove those infidels wrong. Good luck again and just know that the nation depends on you Mayuka, so its time to pull up the socks wherever you go and get it done, its what we do we Zambians..never give up. One door closes, another one opens up. Its just part of life and keep fighting. For the weak minds after such an adventure in England, they fail, but now its time you showed the world what you are made of. I am very confident that you will succeed, you are a chipolopolo, you DON’T FAIL. Keep your head up! All will be well and before long you will be backflipping again, that I know for sure.
mayuka is finished will flop even in russia. he is grasping and reaching. wen u are employed by a club you hav 2 sho results, they wont sit around and pamper yuo while they wait for your form to one day do a miracle
Dude, it must suck to be you! Why are you always negative and angry at everything? You are one sorry @ss n!gga I have ever come across on this site. Don’t act like you are God to know what the future holds for Mayuka. Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut than open it and make everyone around you realize that you are actually a fool. Be optimistic for once or just shut up!
Umm !! MR STUMPY, DO I HAVE TO THINK U HATE MAYUKA OR SUMTIN?
MAYUKA WAS ALL THE TIME SITTING ON THE BENCH WAITING TO BE CALLED ON BY KOEMAN . WITH THREE OR TWO OCASSIONS I HAVE SEEN KOEMAN CALLING MAYUKA..
MR, U ARE THINKING OF AFRICAN MENTALITY -MEANING ONCE HE ( MAYUKA ) COULDNT DO IT IN SOTON HE CANT DO IT IN RUSSIA?
COMMON MENN!! IT IS KOEMANS FAULT NOT TO LET MAYUKA SHINES AT
SOTON..CLEAR YOUR AFRICAN MENTALITY MIND AND THINK AS HUMAN AFRICAN BEING..I THINK YOUR CEREBRUM IS WEAK..
Thank you Kwame for pumping some sense into Stumpy’s head. But knowing him, its probably getting in left ear and comes out to right ear with no effect at all. lol
Stophila Sunzu has finally joined Lilli on loan.
Wish Mayuka all the best of luck. He still has a lot of football in him.
Can’t his agent get him a Championship team at least?
Atleast he’s going where there’s no load shedding .
Lol
Was really hoping for Mayuka to stay in the premiership at least. He has been a victim of too much instability at his club i.e three coaches in the last two years as well as being loaned out during that same period. These are some of the things that can affect some players negatively. His pace and stamina makes him suitable for the premiership but as a striker his confidence kept nosediving due to lack of goals and arguably limited game time. Given a choice I’d rather he moved to France or Holland where emphasis is on the technical aspect of the game as opposed to the physical nature in the premiership.
Did he flop at Southampton? Unfortunately as a striker, yes. (Strikers are judged by goals scored irregardless of game time).
Can he still cut it in the premiership? Absolutely. (As long as he is under a coach who can put his arms around him and believe in him).
Is there any hope left? Most strikers peak at 26/27 years. Mayuka is less than that. Plus you don’t have to play in the premiership to be a prolific striker. He should take this disappointment on the chin and quickly move on. He desperately needs to start scoring goals because Zambia desperately needs him.
