Kitwe town came to standstill on Sunday as Power dynamos welcomed their bitter rivals Nkana in a week 14 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter.
Prior to kick-off, there was a lot of hype and expectations were high from the fans as Perry Mutapa and Manfred Chabinga took charge of their first Kitwe derby as Power dynamos and Nkana coach respectively.
The match was a cagey affair in the first few minutes as both sides failed to create chances for their strikers.
The first real action was a mini-fight about 20 minutes into the match which saw Audrick Nkole flash out a number of yellow cards with Idriss Ilunga Mbombo being one of the recipients.
Power dynamos, however, broke the deadlock three minutes to half time as Kondwani Chiboni burst into a brilliant run on the right before swinging in a fine low cross, Davy Daka did well to jump over the ball taking Harun Shakava out of the equation.
The ball landed to Luka Chamanga who made no mistake slotting the ball home to open the scores and send the fully packed Arthur Davies Stadium into a frenzy.
The second half was a different scenario as Power dynamos came back with all guns blazing and doubled the lead just five minutes after the restart, Davy Daka slotting home from inside the box following a beautiful cut back from Fred Mulambia.
Mulambia sealed the win 13 minutes after being put on goal by Kondwani Chiboni who was having a brilliant game. The win takes Power dynamos to seventh place with 20 points.
