Zesco United talisman Jesse Jackson Were has been named in the Kenya national team squad for back to back 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
Were leads the ZSL foursome summoned by Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt and Togo. The others are Red Arrows goalkeeper Ian Otieno, Nkana defender Harun Shakava, Zesco United midfielder Anthony Teddy Akumu Agay.
Were has been in fantastic form for Zesco scoring 10 goals in nine games so far this season with five of those coming in the last two games.
Former Buildcon forward Mark Makwatta has also been summoned alongside England based Victor Wanyama and Japan-based goal machine Michael ‘Midusa’ Olunga.
The Harambee Stars will kick off non-residential training on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in Nairobi. Stars will face Egypt on November 14, in Cairo, and Togo on November 19, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani.
