Kansanshi Dynamos have confirmed the departures of three senior players as the club continues reshaping its squad ahead of the 2026 Transitional League campaign.
The Solwezi-based side announced on Tuesday that forwards Kalonji Mwepu and Brian Mwila, together with left-back Joseph Chomba, will leave the club following the expiry of their contracts.
Mwepu departs after two productive seasons with the Fearless Mabanga Boys, having finished as the club’s leading goalscorer in both campaigns since arriving from Power Dynamos in August 2024.
The forward opted against renewing his contract, bringing an end to a successful spell in which he established himself as one of Kansanshi Dynamos’ most influential attacking players.
Former Zambia international Brian Mwila also leaves after spending one season at the club. The striker joined Kansanshi Dynamos as a free agent in October 2025 following a stint with Angolan top-flight side Sagrada Esperança.
Mwila’s career has taken him across three continents. After beginning his professional journey with Lime Hotspurs, he earned a move to South African Premier Soccer League side Platinum Stars in 2017 before later signing for Austrian club SCR Altach.
At international level, the striker made his Zambia debut in 2017 and was part of the Chipolopolo squad that finished runners-up at the COSAFA Cup later that year. He has scored 10 goals in 20 appearances for the senior national team.
Meanwhile, Chomba ends his two-year stay with the club after serving as a dependable option at left-back.
In addition to the departures, Kansanshi Dynamos confirmed that right-back Cornelius Mwendela will remain at National League outfit Chambishi FC after extending his loan spell for the duration of the 2026 Transitional League.
In a statement, the club thanked all four players for their professionalism, commitment and contribution during their time in Solwezi, wishing them success in the next chapters of their careers.
Kansanshi Dynamos also revealed that work is ongoing to strengthen the squad, with announcements regarding new signings expected once all transfer processes have been completed as preparations for the Transitional League gather momentum.
