Kamanga set to sack Micho

Football Association of Zambia, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga is set to fire embattled Chipolopolo Boys coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

According to the ZamFoot Crew insiders at Football House, the FAZ Chief is frustrated with the man he hired last year in February.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that Kamanga gave Micho an ultimatum of defending the Cosafa Cup or face the sack.

Following Zambia’s embarrassing defeats to Lesotho and Swaziland at the ongoing Cosafa Cup, pressure has mounted to fire the Serbian born trainer.

Micho still has about about 8 months remaining on his K575,000 ($25,000) per month contract.

The former Orlando Pirates and Zamalek coach was hired by FAZ on February 3, 2020.

On July 24, 2020 he put pen to paper after government through the Ministry of Sports consented to the contract.

Initially, the outspoken became a darling of the Chipolopolo faithful following his motivational speeches.

With Zambia’s poor performances of the pitch, fans started loosing faith in Micho as he became a lone wolf.

  1. Please Kamanga stop and think, Micho or the Coaches are not the only problems we have. Our Players need serious attitude change other even the next Coach will under-Perform.

  2. It’s foolish to make big decisions like this with anger- “micho is not the culprit we have but the players”
The players attitude and mentality is not good and won’t we us anything

  3. The man at the helm of Faz should step aside as well in the interest of football.
Sacking the coach will not change anything at all without them roots being uprooted as well

  4. Also player selection matters.getting worried with Zambian football we definitely going no where.i don’t know who sinned after 2012 afcon glory. We need to make a strong team for us to face world cup qualifier opponents.

  5. Dont talk about the players its wrong selection..once upon a time strikers in the team brian mwila, moses phiri these are players who once played in the foreign leagues back..young players not utilised..no understanding when to drop a player and when not to.. European based players are neglected in favour of locals who lack game time in local leagues as well..
Lameck banda ,shemmy mayembe , Emmanuel banda, Emmanuel chiluffya, Frankie musonda, guus til..these are players which deserve national team places we don’t want these locals especially when you got good professionals playing at the highest level..

  6. Some players are being picked for national duty for marketing purpose. Eg z kalongoshi he was offloaded by power and micho had dropped him for poor perfomance and he picked prosper chiluya. Micho took kalongoshi to play cosafa hoping to market himself and the frog flopped.. how can you expect the team to will. Mosses phiri was also a passenger in swazi game. Emmanuel chabula was dropped apparent to no any satisfactory reason .. this coach is an idiot. You can only keep him for experiments.

  7. It is NOT the coach. He has no players to use. We can bring Jose or Arsene, and with the current crop of players, we will still get kicked by e-seating and Lesotho.

  8. Zambia have players playing football at highest level. Talent is there we need a good coach. Micho is too small to coach zambia period

  9. Zambia lost because of overconfidence and underestimating their opponents.Because of the big names they thought it will be a walk over and they were shocked. It is also good because it will put them in the right flame of mind.I think age is catching up on Augustine Mulenga.I don’t what Salulani really does in the team to deserve a starting place.Secondlly Zambia players lack what is called the big match temperament. We need players who rise to the occasion when chips are down, unfortunately in this team we have no such player .

  10. 4 years ago we had 22 players that conquered Africa at under 23 level ..then went on to reach the quarter final stage of the junior world Cup…..fast forward 4 years on..logic would tell you that they would all have graduated to the senior national team..but then its so shocking how 3 quarters of that team has has disappeared into thin air.. There’s definitely a big problem at football House..the failure by the FAZ technical team to conduct a head count of such a proven group of winners at international level simply tells you that the kamanga administration is incompetent..not mention zsmbias mediocre performances in friendlies & qualification. Its time comrade kamanga spoke to his conscious to do the honorable thing by stepping down & letting people that can bring glory back to this country to run bola yapa zed..

  11. Find the players who can perform around Zambia those who are selfishless, with good attitude.Coach is OK give him time and let him work freely.

  12. Micho is okay and has never been a Lone wolf. Ba Media che simple things that u are aware that players we have do not add up for a win. Believe this chipolopolo fans. U have no quality

  13. From the way things are going at football house you can tell that there is incompetence of highest level that’s why they are even making last minute board room decisions like in the case of young eagles against nkana because if we had competent people such issues can’t happen in modern football.Mr kamanga want to uplift a tree by cutting a branch leaving
the roots, make a self introspection from the time you were elected president to date what you have achieved from what you promised your electrotes then you will be able to know if you’re fit to run zambian football .I will remind you of some of the things you told us:To stamp out corruption, accountability, free coaching courses paid up by FIFA as you were putting it.Young eagles case against nkana that’s pure corruption to save nkana,C-license course coaches are paying as much as K7000 .The Best you can do is to step aside with your micho before you cause more pain to the zambian people.

  14. VIVA Kamanga,
I would like to register my disappointment on the performance of our Chipolopolo at on going COSAFA 2021. Sometimes we want to rush into throwing stones to admin/coach.Just a minute guys :Few yrs ago we beat Algeria home and away, Brian Mwila scored a brace. We almost beat Nigeria in their back yard as they did to us without Patson and Mwila due to injury with a Zambian coach, later we said Zambian coaches will take us nowhere we need expertriet. Micho became the darling of every soccer analyst today you are saying we need a Zambian coach who takes our insults even when he is not well paid. Let’s not take ours like donuts respect them. Most of today’s Zambian players are not ambitious. Look at Chitiya Mususu, Kaseba, Ngoga to mention a few. They have body statue, height and strength that would have put them on top of the world but don’t know how to use it. But analyst and fans will question why leaving out these. Remember Micho dropped Chongo before what did we say? Which young passionate young blood are you talking about. Bring them in they will not last a season. Remember we tried them before :Luchanga, Mukuka Mulenga etc. Even patson Daka if not for the confidence this power dynamos coach had in him he would be a forgotten story today. Remember soccer is now a business, with the movement of players and firing of coaches, players are no longer developed by coaches but their own responsibility and commitment that ignit passion to be the Ronaldo’s. Our players are now rated third class in ABSA league. Our strikers are wasters and yet those are the cream we have. We used to beat big teams with only three professionals. How professionals do we have and how many Eswatin and Lesotho have. Problem is our players. What was the age of the Katongos in 2012. What is the age of Messi and Dimaria when they won Copa America? Let’s give our coaches a good condition of service and a time to develop the team. Viva chipolopolo, viva Kamanga

  15. Forget about kalu imwe ma party cadres. Kalu has done his part and has no financial discipline. Am sure there are numerous Zambians who can do a better job instead of recycling kalu.

  16. The fish starts from the head to rot. Therefore, don’t expect anything good trom team kamannga..The best he can do is to step aside period.

  17. The main problem is not the Coach. People at Football House also need to look at themselves.

We are recycling players for COSAFA tournaments and friendlies. E.Chilufya, E.Banda, Shemmy Mayembe, Mwape Musonda in Qatar all these talents that are available but not looked at.
The local coaches for the last 4 years or more have failed us though one won COSAFA. COSAFA is not a tournament to gauge how good the Coach is. Its for preparation. That’s why Senegal have sent their U23 Team, South Africa also have an experimental team there and Zimbabwe have fringe players.

When Herve Renard was appointed as a Coach he had a tough time with us FANS because he was building the team. We called names like P.E Teacher. I also honestly at some time gave up on HR even though I supported him for a long time. I say lets give this guy time. We are too emotional sometimes and we don’t see the bigger picture.

I say Kamanga we will be making a BIG mistake to fire this guy and bring a new coach now with World Cup qualifiers in about 3 months. Micho has been in charge for about a year now. You gauging him on friendly game?

    Hw
