Kalaba brace hands Mazembe CAF Confederations Cup

Rainford Kalaba handed TP Mazembe the CAF Confederations Cup title when he scored a brace to help his club win 4 – 1 on the day to walk away with a 5 – 2 aggregate scoreline against Mo Beijaia of Algeria.

The attacking midfielder struck the second goal for Mazembe when he volleyed from outside the box in the 42nd minute before he made it three with another brilliant effort from outside the box in 63rd minute.

Beijaia pulled one back before Mazembe added a fourth.

Nathan Sinkala failed to recover in time for the final leg after he was injured in Algeria while Kabaso Chongo watched from the bench despite playing the entire game in the first leg.

Given Singuluma and Jonas Sakuwaha also received medals despite not playing in the final.

This implies that Kalaba has won the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

Mazembe will play Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Super Cup.
