MTN Super League side Trident FC have announced the departure of head coach Albert Kachinga and his assistant Joseph Musonda.
The decision comes after a string of poor results that have seen the team win only one game since their promotion to the MTN Super League.
The relegation bound outfit has further confirmed the appointment of Ernest Kofi as the caretaker coach.
Kachinga has overseen 17 games of which they have won just one losing nine and drawing seven.

Subject: TRIDENT MAKES CHANGES ON THE TECHNICAL BENCH: KACHINGA DEPARTS AS KOFI APPOINTED CARETAKER COACH
Trident Football Club has implemented significant changes to its technical bench; with the departure of Mr. Albert Kachinga and the appointment of Mr. Ernest Kofi as the caretaker coach.
🔱 Effective immediately, Mr. Kachinga has left his position as Head Coach, while Mr. Kofi steps in as the interim leader of the team until the end of the season. Additionally, Mr. Joseph Musonda who served as an assistant coach has also parted ways with the club.
🔱 The decision to appoint Mr. Kofi comes after a string of poor results by the team under the tutelage of Mr. Kachinga during which the team played 17 games: winning 1, drawing 7 and losing 9.
🔱 Mr. Ernest Kofi, a UEFA B coaching license holder brings a wealth of experience to Trident football having previously managed Kitwe united, Nakambala leopards and Notwane FC of Botswana. He will be assisted by Mr. Arnold Malisawa and Mr. Isaac Shimoko.
🔱 “We are confident that under Mr. Ernest Kofi, the team will achieve success and demonstrate significant improvement on the field of play.” the club CEO Mr. Mang’ulenje Mvula said.
🔱 The club will officially unveil Kofi this week and his first task will be a home fixture against Forest Rangers FC this Saturday.
