Grant drops 10 as he names squad for four Nations tournament 

Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant has named a 24 member  squad for the four Nations joint tournament. 

Grant has named a strong squad with the majority of players that took part in the Africa Cup of Nations. 

Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe last month agreed to hold a joint football tournament during the upcoming FIFA international window between 18-26 March 2024 in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Leicester City forward Patson Daka leads the list if players summoned alongside 2012 AFCON winner Stophila Sunzu. 

Mozambique based youngster Obino Chisala has also been handed a call up by the Israeli gaffer. 

Grant has however left out Saudi Arabia based Fashion Sakala, Belgium based Klings Kangwa, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Kelvin Kapumbu and Edward Chilufya.  

Grant the four team tournament to prepare for the June round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Grant has included a number MTN Super League top performers in Joshua Mutale, Lawrence Mulenga,Dominic Chanda, Golden Mashata, Abraham Siankombo and Andrew Phiri. 

Tanzania based duo of midfielder Clatous Chota Chama and striker Kennedy Musonda has been summoned. 

Malawi will host the four Nations tournament.

  1. Wishing the boys well.

    Should have taken the U20 squad too. This would have been a great learning experience or preparation for COSAFA and any other qualifiers for the young lads.

    Maybe FAZ has no money coz of the ladies Olympic qualifiers, U17 World Cup qualifiers and U15 friendlies prioritized.
