A first half hatrick from left back Jonathan Kalimina helped Zambia Under-17 to a 4-2 win over Senegal in a pre-tournament friendly match.
The Kafue Celtic left back gave the Ian Bakala tutored side a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute then he scored two quick goals in 40th and 42nd to send the team 3-0 up.
Senegal made five changes after the break and piled pressure on the boys from Lusaka but it was the Zambians who scored to make 4-0 thanks to Atletico Lusaka’s Marcel Zimba’s goal.
The young Teranga Lions grabbed to late goals from Mame Mody and a penalty Amara Diouf.
Zambia is expected to play another friendly against Guinea before the tournament starts on 29th April.
Zambia is in Group B alongside Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa.
