  1. African player of the year should go to Aubameyang. Yaya should not win it this time. Toure has not done much individually to win the award. Yes he won the 2015 Afcon with Ivory coast but this is not the same toure of 2012, 2013. He is a 4 time African player of the year, better players are out there. Give the award to other young players.
Pierre Aubameyang is there, Andre Ayew is there, Mahrez is there others are there too.
These guys deserve it too. Yaya Toure is not the only talent from Africa.

Yaya just received the BBC 2015 Africa player of the year award. Aubameyang should win the Glo-Caf award.

    • I agree with you that individually he has not done enough to win the award but I don’t agree that just because he is a four time winner and BBC Africa player then that should be a reason he shouldn’t win it. This award should rightfully go to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon/ Borussia Dortmund) he has been by far the best.

  2. Coach of the year is a toss between Hervé Renard, Cote d’ivore, Patrice Carteron, TP Mazembe.

Club of the year should definitely be TP Mazembe.

Sad that just three years ago in 2012 we had a number of Zambian up for awards and just such a short time later only a referee. That said well done to Mr. Sikazwe for raising our flag high and we hope he gets it.

  3. The reason why I don’t want yaya to win the award is not bcos he is a 4 time winner of the award and definitely not because he is the current bbc Africa best player.

If the award is based on recent form and performance of the nominees, then Aubameyang should win it.

  4. Andre is a strong contender,if performance on the continent for the year under review is anything to go by.
Aubameyeng hasn’t excelled with Gabon as Andre has with Ghana.
Though Yaya stands as favorite to win it again.

    • Facts are facts & objectivity must reign supreme. Not becos our superman is in contention shall we are fall behind him. Others have proven they worth more than Dede. Few in mind are Aubamayeng, Mahrez, Sadio Mane & Musa. Dede is below these guys even if some of them have not had the opportunity to score goals at the World Cup.
Dede is a fighter, but that does not make him the best in Africa. Let us all accept this obvious fact. Don’t let us jump the gun.

    • Dede doesn’t deserve it. I believe Aubameng or Mahrez should have it. But unlike paradox l am using my head to make this determination & not my hatred for the African giants (where Dede) is the asst. captain. If Africans can use their heads, that continent would be heaven on earth. Unfortunately however, most of us fail to apply this simple principle – objectivity, honesty, & principled.Paradox, wake up from your slumber.

  5. Idi Amin…….. Weak bundesliga? Kidding right?

Bundesliga may seem weak thanks to bayern munich, but that league is far from anything weak. Bundesliga is third on the Uefa league ranking behind Spain and England.

    1 Spain 99.9997

    2 England 80.3917

    3 Germany 79.4157

    4 Italy 70.5106

    5 Portugal 61.3826

    6 France 52.4166

    7 Russia 50.4986

Sentiments apart, Aubameyang is the best candidate for that award.

    • Note the close points between premier league and bundesliga. England may lose the second position if the english clubs fail to go far in the ongoing champions. This may happen if the germany clubs perform well in this 2015/2016 Uefa competitions(Champions league and Europa).

  6. Aubamayeng should win this one he is playing some good football, yaya toure is not at his best Andre ayew is not yet there to win this award may be next season.coach of the year I will give it to Renard,Africa based player I will give it to mbwana samatta.but I will not be suprise if yaya toure win the award because of favouritism from Caf.

  7. England league has the biggest viewership in the world, the surprises, the level of competition in the league is the best Who would have thought that an average team league like Leicester city well I may have to reconsider the word avergae cos this leicester club don’t look average at all thanks to the man that won’t stop scoring Jamie Vardy and an African(a worthy caf top 3 award nominee) Mahrez tormenting clubs week in week out.

But english clubs are Super disappointing when it comes to Uefa competitions, just like the England national teams(THESE ONES ARE MEGA SUPER DISAPPOINTING) from their youth teams to their three-lazy cats senoir team.

  8. My country man Dede is NOT there yet. He is far below Aubamayeng or Mahrez. Between these two, l will find it tough to decide. I will leave it to the pundits. Yaya Toure is nowhere near these two guys. I will even choose Musa of Nigeria over my beloved Dede. Dede is good but not as sparkling as Musa or Sadio Mane of Senegal (Southampton). These guys should be considered before Dede or even the veteran Yaya Toure.

  9. For me I will rate Odion Ighalo(Watford/Nigeria) ahead of Musa(Cska moscow/Nigeria). If any Nigerian should be among the top 5, then it should be Ighalo. That guy is the Jamie Vardy of Watford. He is the highest goal scorer in the whole England top tiers league 4rm EPl down to division whatever. Leading the park ahead of Aguero, harry kane, Vardy etc.

*”Watford striker Odion Ighalo continued his unbelievable season in the Premier League on Saturday, as the 26-year-old Nigerian international scored the winner against sunderland 0-1.
Ighalo’s latest strike was all about being in the right place at the right time, as the Watford forward tapped home only goal after Sunderland’s offside trap completely failed.
The African striker is now collecting some amazing stats this season.
Ighalo has been directly involved in 12 of the 15 Premier League goals Watford have scored this season. That’s 77% of the goals.
Moreover, Ighalo has now scored ten goals in the Premier League this season, while his tally in 2015 is even more amazing.
Above with Tottenham striker Harry Kane (24 goals), Ighalo has now scored 26 goals in the calendar year: which is the highest amount of goals of any footballer in the top four flights of English football.””*

  10. Ighalo is good but needs time to catch up with Aubamayang. He is quite promising but at this time taking the totality of the game, Aubamayang or Mahrez would better deserve it.

  11. Yall making noise and sometimes dont even know what yall saying!!

There is a big difference between club football and continental football!!
As there is a big difference between champions league and leavue football!!

Despite the fact, that english teams has not been performing in champions league makes them weak and besides apart from bayern who performs day in and out in uefa, which german team has been performing in europe?

Even highly rated coaches such as mourinho has stated the huge diffreencd between epk and the champions league as he has fileded rahman in the champions league but has refused to feature him in the epl as he clearly understand the vast difference between the two!!

Secondly, most english teams doesnt perform in Europe simply due to the fact that, they ayed more league games in the yr as compared to the la liga and the bundesliga and anyone who doubt this is a liar!!

In england, aside the epl, they have the fa cup, carling cup and these cups are not merely cups but are highly important just as the epl leagie itself and they exhausts all their energies in these cups as compared to the kings cup in spain which is nkt even rated!

The monetary incentives of winning the carling cup as well as the fa cup makes them more competitive and mostly drains the energies of these epl teams!!

Thirdly, the epl is the most strongest league in the world and not because it has a huge viewship but because is veey hard to play in as u can play three matches in a week compared to pthee leagues and of course, there are certain players who were performing like superstars in la liga and bundesliga who went to the epl and became failures!

For instance, ballack was great in bundesliga but became a mere pedestrain in the epl!
Andre shevenchenko was the greatest goalscorer in the serie A but became the greatest stature in the epl!
Diego forlan struggled so hard in the epl but became an instant hit in the la liga
Torres struggled too and a whole host of other stars who cldnt perform in the epl because of the hard physical demand on players!

For a player to adapt and play in the epl is remarkable as alot of players has spoken out of how hard its to adapt to the epl as compared to other teams!

Dede needs to be crowned the africa best player because he was performing in the france league bf he moved to swansea city and quickly adapted and hit the ground running by scoring important goals against important teams such as MAN U, newcastle, Chelsea and we all know how hard its to score against these teams in your first season! Dede has scored against all the big teams in the epl man u, chelsea and newcastle!!

Again, dede singlehandedly took ghana to the afcon finals and he was the top joint goal scorer in the afcon and where was patrick as he was scoring against cheap opposition in the bundesliga!!!

Dede again has won the best mvp in the epl in his first season something that long time players has not been able to achieve!

If we are to talk about real achievements , none of these players comes close to dede!!

He has performed wonderfully for the national team and has done incredibly well for his club!

What has toure done this yr? What has aubemang done for Gabon?

    • By your analysis, Dede might even be better than Messi, Neymar & Suarez as these guys plays in a non-competitive league and have not done much for their nations.

      • Who told u that neymar, messi and suarez has not done much for their country?

Messi took argentine to the wc finals as well as the copa america finals!

Neymae took brazil to the semi finlas of the wc and these are no mean achievements!

The points u fellas are missing is that,is very difficult to perform for both club and nation!

There are numerous great players who cant combine the two and for dede to be doing that for both club and nation deserves alot of commendation and not these cheap shot!

Dede, has been the busiest player by far of all the nominee’s and this is the absolute fact!

Finally, yall making it seems like that, all the clubs in the la liga as well as the bundesliga performs all the time in the champikns league which is a liar!

In the champions league jusy like in all big time football competitions, the traditional powers always performs!

Take a closer look at the consistent winners of the champions league and u ll noticed that trend!!

There are so many highly talented players from brazil and argentina who hate the epl because they cannot perform over there as they prefer the spot spanish league and this is another statement pf fact!

  12. U guys should stop comparing a one sided bundesliga to epl!!

Apart from bayern who has monopolize the german league, is there any club again to talk about?

In Britain, even third tier teams or clubs are more dangerous and well organised than a first divisin club in german and thats a valid fact!!
