Jacob Mulenga’s 76th minute goal helped Adana Dermispor rescue a vital point at home against log leaders Antalyaspor.
This was Mulenga’s third goal in 5 appearances for the Turkish Ligue 1 side who are three points outside the last promotion place.
Elsewhere in Europe, Chipolopolo defender Stoppilla Sunzu started on the bench as his team battled to a 1 – 1 draw against Laval.
Sochaux took the lead through an Edouard Butin penalty on the stroke of half time before Laval leveled in the 53rd minute.
Sunzu was introduced in the 62nd minute and he did not disappoint as he helped steady the the Sochaux defence.
Sochaux are currently in seventh position a point outside the three promotion places.
Sunzu and Mulenga are both expected to be called for the match against Mozambique and Cape Verde next month.

how come Jacob does well at club level and not at national team
paradox perhaps its the lack of quality service from attacking midfielders../ the coaches don’t know how best to use him. Renard utilised his potential well in Angola
But why is Sunzu been benched nowadays does he have an injury or not? Even Sinkala is also experiencing the same problem in Switzerland what is going on with our prayers abroad only Jacob mulenga and Chisamba Lungu are enjoying good enough game time. @Zamfoot please update us on our future stars like Lubambo Musonda, Evans Kangwa, Rogas Kola etc not prayers on there end of there career like Jacob Mulenga
We can not have Rodgers Kola as a future star. How many goals has he scored in 3 years? Probably not morethan 2.
Mayb Jacob jst nids a best partner in Chipolopo,cz the guy cn score at club level.4 Sunzu,I had same question in mind wth @Kez,why is he starting 4rm bench?
I think the coach needs to find a player who can partner with jacob up front there.
You guys we can have all theories as to why Jacob doesn’t score but finding a solution to that at national will just be a short term fix. Fact is Jacob is ageing and he should not be the striker we run to for goals. He is now 30 or so hence the need to faze him out and rely on the younger ones. He has done what he could do for Zambia and I guess its time to pave way for younger players. we are referring to 2014 where he was on fire and expect him to perform the same after 4 years. Its impossible, he is ageing and has had rough time dealing with injuries.
Sunzu is not 100% fit, nathan sinkala had an illness buh he has nw recovered. Football @ club lEvel is diff frm football @ national level. @ club levl , u play wEEk in nd weEk out, ur teammates cn knw hw ur movEnt is. For jacob , his bst partnEr in th team is chamanga buh hE is now old.
Jacob is a good striker, we have strikers in zambia but the mid fielders and wingers can’t create killer passes. We should ask boneti,he didn’t come with his strikers. Boneti used wingers and mid fielders to sharpen the striking force. After seeing zambia playing today,I can say that its better we fail to qualify because we are going to be humiliated like never before. Janza is a crap
@Kez kez Sunzu has been struggling with an injury and he had a bereavement as well. He is not 100% fit. It’s only us who over depend and use the guy even when is not fit.
@Naked goal I agree with you Jacob even in Holland at Utrecht Fc used to score double figures when fit. The guy thrives with assists and good wing play. I watched a few games at Utrecht the used fast wingers.
In the past we had L. Msiska, N. Mumamba, A. Tembo and T. Mwitwa ….. Who used to terrolise defendes and lay in crosses for strikers to finish. That’s how Zambia used to play. Not chipatepate these days.
I find it strange that some people are questioning Jacob’s credentials at national team level. Which Zambia player has a better scoring ratio than Jacob apart from Chris Katongo? I also find it strange that some people are calling Jacob old at 30yrs old. That is the age at which a player reaches his peak. Look at Christiano Ronaldo who will be 30 this year. He has scored 17 goals in 9 games. It is the best age for Jacob to play at Afcon 2015.
jacob nid apartna & gud wingers who can suply him with gud croses
Papa bonse abo Jacob, Chamanga, Mayuka etc time is up-Sate Sate, Evans, Patson Daka, Patrick Ngoma etc need too take over. We can’t continue relying on strikers some that score 1 goal in 2yrs (Bernard Bomber Chanda, Ucar, Obby Kapita, Francis Kajiya, Fanny Hangunyu etc must be turning in their Graves how some of these professionals even had so much opportunities at the expense of more deserving unsung strikers like Sate Sate and Evans Kangwa-there is no way these two boys would go 5 games without scoring for Zambia). FAZ should stop wasting money on airtickets on strikers that when they score is like squeezing juice out of a rock. The question of experience is out as these strikers have since turned from experienced to inexperienced. And we are paying the price of over believing in the 2012 squad and Renard isn’t free of blame on this as after Afcon 2013 he should have done what we are doing now. No wonder abena Xris started feeling like they owned the team. I don’t blame Xris as an individual but the system that allowed for impunity
Honestly guys, you would choose to watch local league players than the national team right now.
The Zambian game of bola panshi has started in the league and not the janza style of zampe zampe chintaluke style of play.
the national team has not created any goal that we can be proud of and say its from the training field. its goals even any ordinary player can score.
My heart would be at peace to see Zambia qualify or not with the young stars playing than wasting tax payers money on chamanga, jacob, mayuka and them. We have better talent than what Janza selects.
