Russian based winger cum striker Evans Kangwa has urged his teammates to work hard and qualify for next year’s African Cup of Nations.
The 2012 AFCON winner believes this is the time for the Chipolopolo Boys to end their seven year AFCON drought and qualify to the continental showpiece.
“Yeah I know the fans they are expecting a lot from the national team because we’ve not qualified a couple of times now and even us players are looking forward to qualifying this time around,” he said

“It’s not an option but we just have to push. When we are in camp we always joke about it but it’s not a joke we need to be in the AFCON and a lot of players are playing in good leagues than before but they’ve never been to AFCON.
Zambia last qualified for AFCON in 2015, and missed the last three editions.
In the current Chipolopolo set up, only Evans and Lubambo Musonda have featured at an African of Nations tournament.
“So I think this is the time we need to push so that they also are part of history or be in the Africa cup probably you never know we can even win it again,” he said.
Zambia is set to face Congo Brazaville in a friendly match over the weekend in Turkey.
