The Zambia national team are this afternoon in a make or break encounter against Niger.
The Honour Janza coached squad are widely expected to carry the day against a Niger side who have only won twice in the last two years in all competitions and friendlies. Niger have played 19 games in the last two years and they have lost 11 times recording wins at home against Guinea on 14th October, 2012 while the other win was recorded last month against Uganda.
Zambia will look to add to this dismal record for the West Africans.
Janza is expected to name Kennedy Mweene in goal while Donashano Malama is expcted to start at right back with Emmanuel Mbola on the left.
Chris Munthali and Nyambe Mulenga will complete the back four.
Nathan Sinkala will anchor the midfield with Rainford Kalaba, Chisamba Lungu and Fwayo Tembo all expected to exchange roles in midfield.
Janza is expected to renew the 2010 AFCON striking partnership of James Chamanga and Jacob Mulenga.
As was the case in the match against Cape Verde, captain Chris Katongo is expected to start on the bench.
The game will kick off at 16:00hrs Niger time (17:00hrs CAT) at Stade Seyni Kountche in Niamey.
The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation ZNBC will not televise the match live but the match will be live on Supersport.
go get em boys
Mayuka should start. Mayuka is better than Jacob Mulenga. Let us not be fooled by Mayuka’s lack of game time in the EPL. Mayuka has better movement and is faster than the slow Jacob. Jacob was pathetic against Mozambique and cape verde. He must take the blame for the draw with Mozambique. He failed to score. If jacob had played afcon 2012 zambia would never have been champions.
zambia2 niger0
well come jonie
All the best zambia.
Its our time. The worst result shld be win.
Zambia all the way.dnt let us down
The combination of Jacob Mulenga and Chamanga is gud I just hope Chipolopolo will do the business this afternoon God bless Zambia.
Mayuka and Chamanga should start up front
its a voctory
I predict a 3-1 victory
Malawi is 1 goal down to Algeria right in their own backyard.
With due respect ,all those who are saying Kennedy mweene should start on the bench should do their football research nicely and I don’t even think its a topic we should debate on.
