‘It’s always difficult playing teams that are fighting for their stay in the Super League’- Mutapa

Power Dynamos head coach Oswald Mutapa is expecting a tough match when his side faces off with struggling FC Leopards.

Mutapa says it’s difficult to face a team trying to stay up in the MTN Super League but he feels the defending Champions have an edge because of the quality that they have.

The former Zambia U17 gaffer says his side will need to forget about continental football for now and focus on the local which is the reason why they are now playing in the CAF Champions League.

“It’s always difficult playing teams that are fighting for their stay in the Super League. They always make things difficult. But I feel we have an edge, we have the quality, so we should go out there believing in ourselves and playing to win,” Mutapa said.

“Yes, we should forget for a while, move away from continental football, and focus on the league. It’s the one that made us play continental football, so we should start collecting points again. No bearing at all, because this is our domestic league, which we should concentrate on. That is water under the bridge, the Champions League. So I think that’s something that we have spoken about with the players.”

“The same message as always. Come with numbers. They should show that even when there is a storm, they are with us. We need them, they need us. So they come with numbers to give the team moral support,” he added.

Abayellow will look to pick up where they left off in the league and extend their unbeaten run to six games. Power Dynamos have had an upper hand in this fixture losing just once in eight meetings.

Kick off at President Stadium is set for 15h00 Central African Time with charges at K15 for open wing, K30 Grandstand uncovered, K100 for grandstand covered and K200 for VIP.
