The Kit manufacturer Kappa has given its position on the new temporal Chipolopolo jersey and the kit sponsorship deal.
The Italian kit manufacturing company has clarified to the ZamFoot Crew that the kit was not bought from a Kappa shop but was supplied from their head office.
“This kit was not bought from a Kappa shop. The kit was off the shelf kit supplied from head office,” Kappa clarified.
This was after ardent Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) critics stormed social media accusing the FA of buying the kit from a local shop.
Kappa further stated that it is in advanced talks with FAZ to finalise a permanent deal with the Chipolopolo.
“Kappa is in advanced talks with finalizing a permanent deal [with FAZ],” the statement added.
Kappa further added that the design and color is the official design of the kit. This is after the design and color of the kit which is said to be a ‘temporal kit’ was leaked.
“Official kit designs in correct colors……, to be supplied on conclusion of an official permanent deal.”
It is clear that the Chipolopolo soon have an official kit sponsor since the expiry of the kit deal with Nike.

Here we go again
Not only did they fail to qualify for AFCON, now they want to embarrass Zambians by using a bootleg kit? Don’t be surprised if the national team is wearing Manchester United kit with Zlatan, Pogba or Rooney’s name on the back of the the jerseys. Where’s Kalusha when you need him?
Oh please. This is all Kalusha’s fault. It is the Kalusha FAZ that breached the contract with Nike and was unable to get a kit sponsor for 2 years. Zambia was buying Nike jerseys for 2 years to maintain a façade of being under contract.
Don’t even get me started on the AFCON. How do you run a relay with two people and someone hands you the batton when your opponents are almost at the finish line, then they blame you for losing. Kamanga and his admin tookover FAZ when Zambia was already basically out of the competition.
This is the problem with us Africans. Hero worship that continues to sit on the back of big wins. Other places value consistent performance over one off victories. The last FAZ won AFCON in 2012, but after that…they simply were too relaxed and too complacent to be taken seriously. This jersey is at least a step forward.
Excuses, excuses. They’ve been in power since March; that’s 7 months. Name a single association that takes one year to finalize a kit deal? Just borrow Zesco’s kit and be done with it.
Lol. So you are upset with them for 7 months and yet you are calling for Kalu who couldn’t get it done in 2 Years??
C’mon man.
Excuses, excuses. They’ve been in power since March; that’s 7 months. Name a single association that takes one year to finalize a kit deal? Just borrow Zesco’s kit and be done with it.
I WILL NAME THE FAZ LEAD BY KALUSHA BWALYA WHO TOOK 2 YEARS AND STILL COUNTING
Dont justify failures plizzzzz!!!! What has happened in the past 7 months is nothing to celebrate about ba Positive thinking.
naimwe!
Awe boi. I’m not celebrating, what I am saying is these guys have done more for this kit situation in 7 months than Kalu and company did in 2 years, and yet there are people like my fellow blogger Concerned Citizen who want to use Kalu’s admin as the standard for good leadership. That logic is flawed. Let’s be objective in our observations. I am not a fan of Kamanga, but I will at least give credit to the idea that he and his guys are trying their best to resolve an issue that was simply pushed under the rug by the last admin.
Also, you show me where these guys have failed? The world cup qualifier is their first real test.
It. Looks like the only hero we had has to be hurried alive. Let’s just play even mufigamba without pouring mad on kalu. Like it not so far he is the best thing that has ever happened to Zambia football. Nike is just another company, we can move on. Kappa will short change us if we have real managers in place. Its just a potty that details of the deal have not been devulged for one reason or the other, hence the story that the Jerry was bought in a shop. Somebody is already nutmegging themselves isn’t it means.
Kappa has clarified. The kit came straight from them.If you like Kalu follow him.You know where he stays.
There is no following Kalu and there is no forming of eating camps, we are one people.
And we encourage accountability in the way we conduct affairs. That is the next big step for Africa. Just to slowly but surely get to kill that institutionalized akabututu.
Let us not condemn but to help the association with ideals that will improve zambian football let us also forget what kalusha had done.
Leave kalu alone for now and allow kamanga to settle down.
Big task ahead Mr kamanga, prove your critics wrong.
