FAZ clarify Danny’s role as Chipolopolo technical adviser

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has clarified the role of the Danny Kabwe who has been appointed the Chipolopolo technical adviser for the 2018 Russia World Cup qualifying series.

FAZ General Secretary Ponga Liwewe said Kabwe will work hand in hand with Wedson Nyirenda playing an advisory role.

“Kabwe will be technical adviser and he will exchange thoughts, pass ideas and assess the team,” Liwewe told the Times of Zambia.

“He will study the opposition and give his opinion. Their roles are well defined and Nyirenda will make the final decision,” he added.

“We haven’t attached a timeframe to his stint with the team yet but our understanding is it will continue throughout the World Cup qualifying series,” Liwewe said.

Kabwe is currently the coach for super division side Power Dynamos. He has previously been invooved with the national team when he was assitant to Jan Brouwer in 2001.

Chipolopolo coach Nyirenda is currently being assisted by Aggrey Chiyangi and Chintu Kampamba.
