FC Midtjylland has added a new card to the offensive in the form of 22-year-old Edward Chilufya. Svend Graversen calls the Zambian national team player a significant transfer and a player who has great potential. Read the sports manager’s reaction to the approach via the link below.
FCM acquires Edward Chilufya
“Chili”, as Edward Chilufya is called, got his football upbringing at Mpande Academy in his home country. From here, he became a profile on the Zambian U20 national team, which won the African championship at home in 2017. The performance in the national team paved the way for Djurgården IF, to which he was picked up in the winter of 2018.
Since then, there have been 73 appearances for the club from Stockholm, where “Chili” has contributed with 17 goals and nine appearances.

FANS CAN EXPECT A LOT
Now the next step in his career awaits, and the lightning-fast African is looking forward to playing for FC Midtjylland.
- First of all, I would like to thank you for the warm welcome, it sounds humble from the Zambian national team player, before he puts words to the change.
- I have chosen this step in my career because I think it is right for me now. We have had many conversations, and I feel that Midtjylland can help me become the best possible player.
Asked about his qualities, humility emerges once again.
- The fans can expect a lot from me. I always do my best to help the team and win titles. I would rather not talk too much about myself. I want to show it on the field, but if I have to highlight some qualities, then it’s my speed and my work for the team.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE IS THE GOAL
On the CV, Chilufya has won a trophy title and a Swedish championship in 2018 and 2019. Several trophies are high on the personal wish list, and there is also a defined goal for the future.
- Midtjylland has been in the Champions League, and we will do it again. We must measure our success in trophies and European football. It’s my ambition to play on the biggest stage, it sounds steely.

Chilufya and Djurgården IF ended the Allsvenskan season 2021 with bronze medals in December. After a short holiday, he was back on the training ground in mid-January, and now the hard work awaits.
- I feel in good physical condition, but it’s been a while since I’ve been in combat, so I want to work extra hard to get the necessary minutes in my legs and make sure I’m fit with the rest of the team, when the current matches come. I will probably do my part, assures 22-year-old “Chili”.

Game on!
