Indeni Roses, Amazing Grace Eye Opportunity as ZPL Women’s Super League Enters Matchweek 20

ZPL Women’s Super League – Matchweek 20 | January 24–25, 2026

With several heavyweights sitting out Matchweek 20, the ZPL Women’s Super League presents a rare opening for chasing sides to make serious ground in the table. ZESCO Ndola Girls, Green Buffaloes WFC, ZANACO Ladies and Red Arrows Women are all not in action, creating space for teams like Indeni Roses and an in-form Amazing Grace FC to seize momentum in what promises to be a decisive weekend.

Across the country, compelling fixtures await — from a tactical battle at Sentinel to relegation six-pointers and top-half ambitions.

Trident Queens vs Green Eagles Women

Saturday, January 24 | 15:00 | Trident Stadium

Green Eagles Women travel to Sentinel knowing history is firmly on their side. In five previous meetings, Eagles have never lost to Trident Queens, claiming three wins and two draws — including a dominant 2–0 victory in their most recent clash in August 2025.

Trident Queens, currently ninth with 22 points, will be desperate to rewrite that narrative after a difficult run of form that has seen them fail to win in their last five matches. Defensive solidity will be crucial, with Nandipa Mkombe anchoring the backline, while creativity is expected from Ruth ‘Robinho’ Chinyama, Elizabeth Chishimba and Florence Kasonde.

Green Eagles, sixth on the table with 37 points, arrive as favourites. Although draws have slowed their push, their consistency remains intact. Goals will be sought from Cindy Banda, Theresa Chewe and Rachel Moono as Eagles aim to strengthen their top-six position.

The Elite Ladies vs Indeni Roses

Sunday, January 25 | 12:00 | The Elite Stadium

Few teams will feel the absence of the top four more than Indeni Roses, who have a golden chance to close the gap when they visit The Elite Ladies.

Indeni Roses boast a strong head-to-head record, winning three of their five previous meetings, including two away victories. Sitting fifth with 37 points from 19 matches, victory here could significantly tighten the race at the top.

Key figures Ngosa Chabwe, Edith Phiri, Grace ‘Pogba’ Phiri and Rhoda Chileshe will carry the visitors’ ambitions, fresh from a morale-boosting win over Green Buffaloes Women.

For The Elite Ladies, ninth with 22 points, consistency has been elusive. However, home advantage and the influence of Margaret Mulenga, Saliya Mwanza and Faith Kajiya Kapilingo could make this a stern test for the visitors.

Nchanga Rangers Queens vs Nkwazi Queens

Saturday, January 24 | 15:00 | Nchanga Stadium

All indicators point toward Nchanga Rangers Queens as they welcome struggling Nkwazi Queens. Nchanga have won all three previous encounters and sit comfortably seventh with 32 points.

Confidence is high in the Charity Nthala-coached side, boosted further by Congolese forward Sarrive Lobo, who struck a brace last weekend and will once again be the focal point. Support will come from Lungowe Namasiku, Tricia Mabamba and Gracious Tailoshi.

Nkwazi Queens, 16th with just 12 points, are fighting for survival. They will look to Zewelanji Nambeye, Stacey Gloria Mwelwa and the returning Suwilanji Chibesa to inspire an upset and halt their poor run.

Amazing Grace FC vs YASA Queens

Saturday, January 24 | 15:00 | Amazing Grace Grounds

Few teams are riding a hotter streak than Amazing Grace FC, who enter Matchweek 20 chasing a fourth straight victory. Despite sitting 13th, momentum has completely shifted their season.

Leading the charge is the in-form Ruth Muwowo, whose goals have powered Amazing Grace’s resurgence. Facing them is a YASA Queens side just one place above them, though confidence is low following a run of mixed results.

YASA, who won the reverse fixture 3–2 in August, will rely on midfield engines Harriet Matipa, Natasha Mubanga and Eunice Bwalya to regain control and stop Amazing Grace’s surge.

Konkola Blades Queens vs ZISD FC

Saturday, January 24 | 15:00 | Konkola Stadium

At Konkola Stadium, Konkola Blades Queens will be aiming to assert their dominance over relegation-threatened ZISD FC. The Blades won the only previous meeting emphatically, 3–0, and enter the fixture eighth with 27 points.

Coach Enala Simbeye Phiri will look to Chisomo Banda, Bupe Chulu, Nowela Mwanza and Towera Nkhata to unlock a ZISD side that has drawn four of its last five matches.

ZISD, second from bottom with just eight points, are desperate for a breakthrough but face an uphill battle away from home.
