Hopeless Power Dynamos lose a fourth straight match as Konkola Blades slice Bankers

Power Dynamos have continued their poor run in the ongoing 2021/2022 MTN Super League season as they suffered their fourth straight loss on Saturday afternoon while Konkola Blades handed CAF Champions League campaigners, Sensational Zanaco a shock defeat.

The MTN Super League entered week four of action on Saturday afternoon with six mouth-watering encounters taking center stage.

At Sunset Stadium, A doubleheader took center stage with Nkwazi hosting Green Eagles in an early kick-off. After ninety minutes of football, there was nothing to separate the two teams as they settled for a point each.

In the second match of the day at the same venue, Sharp Konkola Blades ‘sliced’ Zanaco 2-0. Owen Tembo put Blades in the lead with a brilliant free kick in the eleventh minute before Christian Mpoyi could add a second five minutes to halftime.

Kelvin Kaindu could not find an answer to Levy ‘Chabby’ Chabala’s tactics as it ended 2-0 at Sunset Stadium, Zanaco dropping points for the second game in a row.

In Ndola, Defending Champions ZESCO United cruised to a 2-0 win over Indeni thanks to a John Ching’andu brace.

The win takes Zega Mambo to 6th place on the log with six points from two games played so far.

In Kitwe, Power Dynamos fortunes turned from bad to worse as they succumbed to a fourth straight defeat of the season.

Kilonji Mwepu leveled matters in the 83rd minute, canceling out a Webster Muzaza first-half opener.

With the game looking like heading for a draw, former Chipolopolo Boys midfielder Clifford Mulenga scored a free kick in the dying minutes to hand Masauso Tembo and his Power Dynamos their fourth defeat of the season.

At Woodlands Stadium, Marvin Jere’s fifth-minute strike was enough for Elite Lusaka Dynamos who edged Prison Leopards 1-0. The loss is the first for the Correct Boys this season.

The was the first time Elite Lusaka Dynamos recorded maximum points this season after recording three straight draws.

Chambishi FC and Kansanshi Dynamos also played out to a goalless draw at Chambishi Stadium.
