Copper Queens to leave for COSAFA Championship next week

The Zambia Women’s National Team will leave for South Africa on Monday ahead of the 2021 COSAFA Women’s Championship.

FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala confirmed the development to FAZ Media in a statement monitored by the ZamFoot Crew.

“The senior Women’s National Team are expected to fly to South Africa on Monday for the 2021 Cosafa Women’s Championship.”

Margaret Belemu, Grace Chanda, Lushomo Mweemba, Agness Musesa, Ng’ambo Musole, Vast Phiri, and Avell Chitundu are among the notable players in camp for the Copper Queens.

The Copper Queens will compete with Eswatini, Namibia, and Uganda in Group C of the championship which will be played in Nelson Mandela Bay from September 28-October 9.

Their first match will be against Eswatini on 30 September before facing Namibia three days later. Africa’s sole representatives at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will wrap up their Group C campaign with a fixture against guests Uganda on 5 October.
