Kaunda Square mesmerizing midfield sensation Gift Siame scored his first goal of the season for Club Deportivo Legañes U19 who thrashed Rayo Vallecano U19 3-1 at home in the Spanish 2024/25 División de Honor Juvenil, Group 5 week 14 encounter played over the past weekend.
Gift Siame nicknamed as Sweet Cherry netted the third goal from close range in the 56th minute after being well set-up inside the 18-yard box to register his debut goal of the season for Legañes which was also complimented with an assist on the same match day.
Legañes took an early lead in the 11th minute through Suleiman El Haddad Mohamed before Vallecano leveled matters 6 minutes later from a Hugo Castano Lozano goal.
Legañes were back in the lead courtesy of a goal from Guillermo Rodriguez Burcio in the 28th minute to lead 2-1 going at the break.
After the resumption, Siame scored the third goal adding the cherry and icing on the cake in the 56th minute and that was it as Legañes managed a well deserved 3-1 victory in this round of 14 fixture.
Legañes U19 are eighth on the table with 20 points from 14 games played, 17 points behind log leaders Real Madrid U19 while Vallecano U19 are fifth with 22 points as at week 14 in a 16-team league which has 7 Groups across the country.
Legañes next match this weekend will be a tie against bottom-placed Fuenlabrada who are looking for their first victory this season in what promises to be another exciting match for the Kaunda Square lad.
Siame, a product of Sport In Action (SIA) joined Atletico in August 2021 and rose like sunflower becoming one of the top talents in the team and he was instrumental in ensuring Atletico’s qualification last season from National Division One League to the 2024/25 MTN Super League were he scored 13 goals before eventually making a historical switch to Spanish side Legañes in August this year.
Siame also played for the Zambia U15 National Team and he was part of the provisional squad ahead of the 2020 Croatia U15 before making the final team 2 years later and putting up a sterler performance in the 2022 Georgia U15 UEFA Four Nations Invitation Tournament.
