The Zambia U17 Women’s National Team have qualified for the final at the ongoing COSAFA U17 Championships 2024 following Wednesday’s emphatic win.
The Copper Princesses stamped their mark of authority with a commanding 3-0 victory over Madagascar in their semi-final.
Goals from Hellen Banda, Grace Phiri, and captain Mercy Chipasula sealed a comfortable win for the Carol Kanyemba coached outfit.
Mercy Chipasula is now on six goals and claimed her third Player of the Match Award, ensuring Zambia’s fourth consecutive appearance in the COSAFA U17 Girls Championship final.
Chipasula set up the opening two goals before scoring herself to make eleven goal contributions in four games (6 goals and 5 assists ).
The team will battle Lesotho, who edged past Mozambique with a last-minute goal by Nteboheleng Sooane, in the final on Friday, 13 December 2024, at 11h00.
