George Lwandamina has resigned as Zesco United coach after leading the Ndola club to a historic semi final berth in the CAF Champions League.
A statement from Zesco United FC has indicated that the fromer Chipolopolo coach tendered in his resignation and the club has accepted.
Lwandamina was last month liked with a move to Yanga and his visit to Tanzania was widely publicized.
The hype over his move to Tanzania coincidentally came with Zesco’s dip in form which has seen them not win in the last four outtings losing two times.
The champions are now staring at a showdown with Nkana for a second position.
The loss yesterday to Nkana was the last stroll for the celebrated coach.

ZESCO United Football club would like to announce that Head Coach George Lwandamina this morning tendered in his resignation from his position with immediate effect.
The club has accepted his resignation and would like to thank him for the work and contribution during his stay.
Lwandamina joined the club in 2014 and has won two league titles, one Barclay’s cup, Charity Shield and guided the club to the 2016 edition of the CAF champion’s league semi-finals.
The club would also like to announce that Assistant coach Tenant Chembo has been appoint as acting Head Coach until the end of the season.
We would wish Lwandamina success in his new journey.
