Ndola based Super League outfit, Buildcon will this weekend visit one of the toughest Stadia in the league Choma’s Independence Stadium to face stubborn Green Eagles. Buildcon who are top of Stream B with seven points from three matches will be hoping to continue with their good start to the season having won two out of three and drew on against MUZA FC.
Green Eagles will be going into the encounter knowing that a win will potentially take them top of Stream B. The Kawale Boys have recovered from their opening match defeat to Forest Rangers with two consecutive wins, Beating Kitwe giants Power Dynamos, 2-0 in week two at home followed an away 1-0 win over Maestro United Zambia in Mazabuka to collect all six points.
Team Kopala will be fully aware that a win will extend their lead at the top especially after last weekend’s big win over Lumwana Radiants (4-1) to give them a positive five goal difference. Green Eagles and Buildcon have met twice at the Independence Stadium with both teams winning once at the same venue.
The recovery made by the Choma based side will be tested this weekend against a free scoring Buildcon side who have netted seven goals so far and have only allowed two goals. On the other side, Eagles have scored three goals allowing one goal and keeping two clean sheets.
Buildcon will be welcoming back goalkeeper Ngeleka Katembwa who suffered a minor thigh injury during their home match against Lumwana, while Chanda Mushili who sustained a deep cut on the forehead, and was sutured on the pitch will miss the game as he continues to recover.
Other notable absentees will be Benyamen Nenkavu and Emmanuel Gora. Nenkavu who was admitted to the hospital, was discharged Wednesday, he has been given a week to recover. Gora is still out with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Head Coach Srdjan Zivojnov will have at his disposal the likes Osas Okora, Congolese international Diego Apanane, Isaac Shamujompa and Alex Mwamba in defense. The midfield will be centered around the likes of U20 stars Lameck Banda, Klings Kangwa and Fahad Bayo with Ngosa Sunzu also likely to contend for a place in the starting line-up.
Upfront Buildcon the partnership of Moses Phiri and Lameck Silwaba will likely to maintained by the Buildcon technical bench with former Gor Mahia Ivorian striker Ephrem Guikan also offering another option in the final third.
Coach Aggrey Chiyangi is never short of the manpower to stir the Kawale Boys and ensure that the three points remain in Choma as it was the case last year when they won by a goal to nil.
Sabastian Mwange will have a say for a place in between the sticks, as the defense is likely to be maintained with Collins Mulenga, Boniface Sunzu, Gift Wamundila and Michael Mwenya. The likes of Warren Kunda and Mateo Ndashe will offer added depth.
The midfield, going by the last game, captain Ceasar Hakaluba will hope to return to the fray with the likes of Amity Shamende, Spencer Sautu, George Chaloba though he will be facing competition from Siambombe Mukabanga.
The Eagles final third will not be short of options if the likes of Tapson Kaseba, Shadreck Mulungwe, Anos Tembo all fit and in contention for places in the starting line up for this match.
The focus in Stream B will certainly be at the Independence stadium in Choma when the two teams clash in this Super League Week Four encounter that is likely produce another potential table topping side going into Week Five.
