Former Chipolopolo assistant coach and Zambia U23 national team Fighton Simukonda was on Thursday put to rest at Chingola cemetry.
Family and friends gathered at the Nchanga stadium the home of Nchanga Rangers the team he was coaching till the time of his death, to bid farewell to the former national team defender.
Minister of information Chishimba Kambwili, FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina are among the notable faces who attended the funeral.
Simukonda 58 died on Monday 15th February, 2016 at the Konkola Mine Hospital after an illness.
His most recent national assignment saw him qualify the U23 national team to the CAF U23 championship where Zambia did not go beyond the group stage at the 2015 Senegal tournament in Dember.
