Striker Emmanuel Mayuka came of the bench for Zamalek to his club to a 1 – 0 win over Aswan FC.
Playing only his second game in the Premier league since moving to Egypt, Mayuka was introduced in the 68th minute with Zamalek already leading through a 22nd minute Morsy goal.
This was the first time he was playing under the Zamalek interim coach after missing the last game.
The win helps Zamalek maintain second position with 5 point behind leaders Al Ahly.
Lubambo Musonda was again in action as Gandzasar Kapan won by a goal in their second pre-season friendly.

even in egypt to be a bench warmer? this guy he need to work hard & start scoring goals.
Indeed he needs to work hard for him to have a chance to be on de bench 4 our seniour National Soccer Team. Mayuka Mayuka Mayuka, How many times have i called? Start scoring goes my man u can do it again.
My starting Eleven aginst Congo Bra 1 K.Mweene 2 Steaven Kabamba 3 D.Nkausu 4 B.Mfune 5 S.Sunzu 6 N.Sinkala 7 C. Lungu 8 C.katongo 9 C.mbesuma 10 W.Kalengo 11 R.Kalaba…… Bench L. Musonda, I.Chansa,E.Mayuka?,…….. help.
Manfree, your lineup would be overrun in no time. There is no cover in the midfield, you have too many attack minded players. Chisamba and Kalaba would leave Sinkala to fend for himself in the middle and it would be over.
Also, how do you intend to play Mbesuma, Katongo, and Kalengo? This is basically a 4-1-5 formation. Not feasible.
I would go like this.
K. Mweene
Stephen Kabamba Chris Muthali S. Sunzu E Mbola
N. Sinkala I. Chansa
C. Lungu C. Mbesuma R. Kalaba
W. Kalengo
Bench: L. Musonda, Kangwa, J. Banda, B. Mfune, C. Katongo, J. Chirwa
Players I am not sure about in this lineup are Stephen Kabamba, who was okay in CHAN, but not really impressive, Isaac Chansa is a gamble, because I don’t think he can run for 90 minutes anymore. Jack Chirwa only because he is the only central midfielder I remember from watching CHAN. We need a combative player in the middle, if you watch Guinea vs Zambia you will see that this is where the football was being made. They outplayed us in midfield which then created space for their full backs to come up and put in crosses.
Kalengo and Chris in the same team.. easy work for Mbesuma. But it needs brains to work out a winning formula
Mayuka is now a veteran and a non starter 4get about him in the interim. Let’s just work with kalengo and mbesuma 4 now.
In my view you can’t play C.Katongo, Kalengo and Mbesuma in the same starting eleven. You have to pick two and leave out one. Why? only Kalengo of the three is mobile therefore to play two immobile players upfront is crazy in this day and age where upfront movement is everything to evade defenses.
Ngake, this was when Katongo had the speed and energy to play on the right flank. Even recently in some matches at CHAN he would occasionally drift to the right wing to allow someone else to try and get in on goal.
I also think a diamond formation with Katongo at the tip of the midfield behind the 2 strikers is not bad, but like I said before; my concern is always with the lack of support for Sinkala. A good team would probably overwhelm him in that midfield and create all sorts of opennings for their attackers.
Mayuka for me it’s a closed. National team don’t bring Chris Katango near to the team please
It’s closed door for Mayuka for me, Katango should not be near to the national team
pipo u can play winstone, mbesuma ed chris. 4 3 3 or 4 4 2 chris can play both wings o in da middle. I rember at one time watchin zambia, chris, mbesuma ed jacob playing 2gether
Why not use our CHAN goalkeeper, Jacob Banda.
He played so well.
We need players who are active with they clubs not bench warmers jacob banda should be our first choice goalkeep.mweene should be the second choice
Ghana defender Baba Rahman has been named among the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week for this midweek after excelling for Chelsea in their game against PSG.
The Blues left-back had an excellent game even though his English side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the French giants in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League.
The former Kotoko defender was handed a role at left-back lasted the entire duration of the game to global applause for his showing in the game.
As a result of that Baba has been named among the best eleven players to play in Europe’s flagship club competition.
The former Augsburg defender was close in assisting Chelsea’s opener in the 18th minute after sending in a cross to Spanish attacker Diego Costa only for the latter’s header to be tipped away by the PSG goalkeeper.
The Ghanaian international played a nice one-two with Willian before sending in a cross from the left hand side which almost got Chelsea the lead.
The 22-year-old maintained his composure at the back by keeping away PSG danger man Angel Di Maria in most part of the game.
His excellent surging run in the 79th minute saw him being fouled by Lucas Mora who had no option than to bring the defender down after the Ghanaian found his way past his opponent.
Baba received a pass from Willian before outwitting Mora only for the Brazilian to pull him down on the edge of the penalty box.
His performance was however not enough to help his side avoid defeat at the Parc de Princes in Paris
