Felix Katongo leaves Egyptian side

Zambia midfielder Felix Katongo has left Egyptian side Al lttihad by mutual consent, Zambianfootball.co.zm can exclusively reveal.

The 30 year old midfielder left the club barely less than 5 months in North Africa in December 2014 and is currently in the club.

“Felix is a free agent now and his agent is working on finding him a club,” a ZamFoot Crew source revealed in Lusaka.

The Mufulira native who has featured for the likes Forest Rangers and Green Buffaloes on the local scene has played in Angola, South Africa, Libya and France.

The nimble footed midfielder was one of Zambia’s key players in the period 2007-2009 and scored winning goals as Zambia was establishing itself as an African power house again.

Felix was left out of Honour Janza’s AFCON 2015 squad which just picked 2 points.

He was part of the 2012 African Cup of Nations winning squad and came off the bench to feature in the final against Ivory Coast.
