FAZ Women’s Super League enters match week 9 this weekend with so many talking points with regards to the 3 fixtures lined up while 4 games have been postponed.
In Solwezi, Police Dove Queens will welcome Nkwazi Queens in a Police Derby that is expected to produce sparks with both sides declaring themselves ready in this first-ever meeting between these two sides.
Doves are bubbling with confidence after they held one of the best performing teams Lusaka Dynamos 1-1 in midweek while Nkwazi is coming from a disappointing 3-0 loss at the hands of Green Buffaloes so this match has bragging rights at stake with Fearless goal poacher Enelesi Phiri expected to make headlines in this match.
Elsewhere in Central Province, Queens Academy will welcome draw specialists National Assembly at Jasmine Grounds in a fair fixture with a lot of expectations from both sides.
Queens are just one point above Assembly and this makes the game even more interesting because it’s a winner taking it all in terms of better positioning on the log standings.
Queens have won 3 out of 7 games played while The Parliamentarians have drawn 6 out of 8 and registering only one win and a loss.
At Trade Fair Ground, History will be made in Ndola when Indeni Roses and ZESCO Ndola Girls lock horns as the match will be televised live on Television, ZNBC TV 3.
ZESCO Ndola Girls are aiming for the top slot since log leaders Green Buffaloes and Red Arrows are not in action this weekend as their players are on national duty with the Copper Queens. A win will take Zegalicious to the summit but it won’t be easy against a very determined ZESCO Ndola Girls side.
The two teams will be without three players each, Catherine Musonda, Esther Namukwasa, and Noria Sosala for Indeni while Vast Phiri, Avell Chitundu, and Ngambo Musole for ZESCO Ndola Girls who are all with the Women National team in camp.
Thandiwe Ndhlovu and Happy Pinto are expected to lead the ZESCO Ndola Girls attack while Indeni Roses would bank on the likes of Rhoda Chileshe and Grace Kamanga to get the maximum points.
The action will continue on Sunday, 8th May 2021 with only one game expected to take place.
Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club will welcome Nkana Queens at the Old Lusaka’s, Independence Stadium in a game that brings together two teams that haven’t been convincing so far in the league.
With only a point separating these two sides, it’s going to be a battle of Supremacy in terms of bragging rights on who will do better on the match day.
The Red Queens are still searching for their first win of the season while ZISD will hope to carry in from their impressive midweek fixture in a 3-2 victory over Police Dove Queens.
Lusaka Dynamos v Green Buffaloes, Red Arrows v YASA Queens and BUSA Queens v Mufulira Wanderers Queens have all been postponed to later dates.
