Nkana Queens captain Grace Kapansa has predicted a tough game against Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club when the two teams meet this weekend in a 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League match week 9 encounter at the Old Lusaka Independence Stadium.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew from Kitwe, Kapansa said Kalampa Ladies are ready to face ZISD in their first-ever meeting in the league.
“This is the first time we are going to play to with ZISD and I believe in myself and my teammates that we are going to win. We know it won’t be easy but we are ready because of the self-confidence that we have,” Kapansa said.
The Red Queens are yet to find a winning formula in the league managing only 3 points all being draws from 6 games played with 3 losses, however, Kapansa said they are always working hard in training, and very soon they will start picking up maximum points.
“We are always working and training hard so that we start to correct maximum points. We are not doing so well but this game will change our position, it’s not too late because each game in the league is tough but we are coming with full force in Lusaka and I believe we will carry the day because of how prepared we are for this is game.”
The attacking midfielder also took the opportunity to thank the Wusakile Area Member of Parliament Mr. Pavyuma Kalobo for his kind gesture to donate football equipment to the team.
” We are thankful to Mr. Kalobo for the donation that he did, it means a lot to the team and it is a motivational aspect because it will boost our morale in the team. What Mr. did will help to improve our career because everyone is now focusing on taking football seriously and by so doing we are staying away from vices like early marriages and early pregnancies including other bad activities in our communities,” she said.
Nkana and ZISD will lock horns on Sunday at 15:00hrs with both sides still copying up with the super league challenges of picking up positive results.
Nkana currently sits bottom of the log standing on 3 points while ZISD is just a point above Nkana on position 13.
