Following Zambia’s 2-1 defeat to Benin, their has been diverge views with how the players played.
Below ZamFoot Crew‘s Augustine Mwanza, Saasa Munalula, Bernard Chama and Chimuka Hampango had their say in the chat room.
Chimuka Hampango: Lameck Banda’s game lacked end product, Gamphani & Clatous were poor
Why are people throwing Toaster Nsabata under the bus for the loss?
Was he at fault?

For both goals the defense cracked.
Lubambo Musonda failed to stay with his man for the first and Klings Kangwa let his man ran past him to turn what was a safe situation into a 3 v 2.
Tandi Mwape should also have shown more awareness by trying to hold his attempt to snatch the ball once they were 3 v 2.
I think Ghampani Lungu was played there as make-shift seeing we had no option on who to lead the line. He was pathetic but I would not be too hard on him as he seems to thrive in a different position at club level.

But Clatous Chama was way below average. Add that there was no end product from Lameck Banda. it even flatters that the stats would seem like we had quite some control of the game.
I would imagine the team would be much better if these three were replaced by more willing fighters.
Augustine Mwanza: Zambia needs a holding midfielder
I saw the first goal but didn’t see the second, I felt Lubambo did his part by closing his area now the issue of no.6 comes in.
If there is a proper no.6 in the game Cebio Soukou can not come inside like he did and take a shot. The no.6 could have closed him down.

Saasa Munalula: Tandi was slow, Clatous & Lameck need time to gel
Agreed. Lubambo lost his maker for the first.
On Toaster, I’d just add his ball distribution was poor. And he needs to have more command of the defence.
For instance, there was a mix-up in the first half which nearly gifted the Squirrels a goal but for poor finishing.
Tandi Mwape was slow in reacting to situations. I think he is lacking game time at TP Mazembe.

A lot was expected from Triple C [Clatous Chama] and Lameck [Banda] given their current foam at club level.
I think they need more time to gel with the team. They’ve been in-and-out of national team set up.
Bernard Chama: Clatous plays like we owe him an apology
I feel like Ghampani has been given too many chances to impress in national team colours but fails to turn up.
Abena Clatus Chota they play like we owe them an apology. Limbi balifulwa?

I watched the second half of the game and I also watched the other game against Congo Brazzaville.
The problem with most of the analyses on this platform is they are shallow, let me explain what I mean by “Shallow”; The problem is for a long time we have been judging players based on one game, not even scouts will buy a player after watching him/her once, they take time to access all the strengths of a player. If I may ask how many players and Coaches have we cast under the bridge only to realise that we made a mistake?
This ancient methodology should stop! no wonder why food cooked in the microwaves is not healthy at all but detrimental. The inefficiencies I have observed are as listed below:
1. We have very talented players but we have failed to develop game plans around them. For example, when Liverpool is playing Trent A A and Robertson their game plan hinges on these two with Mane and Salah interchanging and dropping deep sometimes. Further, when Man-City plays Raheem Sterling just know that defender will be in trouble because he will make sure holds on to the ball in very dangerous areas to open up the defence of the opponents.
2. We like pointing fingers too early as a result of one or two mistakes, one thing we do not understand is that it takes time and effective planning to build a formidable team. We must learn from big teams like France, Germany, Italy, England, Brazil etc. It took Senegal a long time to wing the AFCON but they were a formidable team in Africa.
3. On this point I will use Italy which has been very consistent in many World Cups mostly producing Championship performances, their secret has been holding on to experience which is very vital in soccer. Look at us we have a lot of experienced players in Mweene, Sunzu, J Chamanga, Kalaba, R Kola and Collins MBesuma to mention a few but our stance is Bakote!!!!!!!. Remember Cameroun’s Roger Milla, Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon and Diego Folan of Uruguay. I am making mention of the other players just to broaden my submission. Otherwise, the point I am trying to drive home is that we need to be honest and pragmatic with our ourselves to return back to glory days.
4. Its time FAZ became a leadership front of Zambia’s soccer, please stop acting on the utterances of people most times you will take the blame, Fans will ever be Fans they will never cease to analyse emotionally.
Personally, I feel the boys performed very well and all we need is to identify unique talents on whom we should strategize our game plans, we must be able to have at least three tactical game plans. When I say at least three I mean more than three but not less than five. Furthermore, concerning the two boys I would say that they are fine but they just need more exposure to the Zambian style of play. The “Tolo” Aime is very good technically kept his position well, made great passes into the midfield but he need to be worked on how to take advantage of his height. On Frank, I like the Boy is very quick and plays with “HUNGER FOR GLORY”
Finally, We need to encourage Players, The Coach and the Technical Team I can see Zambia coming back with a “BANG!” let us stop being negative as I can see most Fans are very negative. Chipolopolo!!!!! Champion!!!!! Champion!!!!! Champion!!!!! Iyeeee!!!!! Chipolopolo!!!!!
NB: IF YOU FIND A TYPO ERROR PLEASE CORRECT IT BUT i IMPLORE YOU TO GET THE GIST OF THE SUBMISSION
