Enock Mwepu has reportedly shown alot of improvement after he was hospitalized yesterday.
The former Chipolopolo captain Enock Mwepu was hospitalised on Sunday at Lusaka’s National Heart Hospital near Kenneth Kaunda International Airport after he felt unwell.
Senior Medical Superintendent Dr. Chabwela Shumba confirmed in an interview that the former Redbull Salzburg and Brighton midfielder was in high spirits.
“Yes, he is our patient and he is in high spirits. We are still doing our assessments and will be giving you updates on any new development. Today he says he feels much better and very glad that the whole nation is sending its prayers,” Dr Shumba said.
Mwepu was diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition last year putting an end to his budding playing career.
He retired from active football and is currently coaching Brighton & Hove Under-9s in England.
Mwepu made 128 appearances for three European Clubs; Red Bull Salzburg, Lifering and Brighton. He scored 6 goals.
He won 23 caps for Zambia having made his debut in 2017 against Algeria.
