Copper Queens to enter camp on Sunday

The Zambia Women’s national team will enter camp on Sunday as a first step for their 2023 preparations towards the FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

The Copper Queens are expected to play at least one international friendly match during the February 13-22 FIFA Window. 

Coach Bruce Mwape is expected to name a local squad for a residential camp in the next few days. 

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) have been making plans for an international friendly match at home before departure for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

The ZamFoot Crew understands that the Copper Queens will face either a South American or European opponent at the National Heroes Stadium. 

According to ZamFoot Crew sources the Copper Queens could face Argentina’s La Albiceleste, the 2006 CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina Champions who are ranked 29th in the World. 

Bruce Mwape’s lasses will be using the February window to prepare for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The Copper Queens are in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica at the ninth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
