Electric derby headlines Sunday Super League action

The Zambia Super League week 31 action continues this afternoon with four matches coming to life.

The electric derby headlines today’s fixtures as Powerful Power Dynamos welcome Defending Champions, ZESCO United at Arthur Davies Stadium.

POWER DYNAMOS vs ZESCO

Power Dynamos put an end to a four match winless run last weekend with an impressive 5-0 bashing of Indeni and will be hoping to continue on the route this afternoon.

ZESCO United are on a seven game unbeaten run and need maximum points to continue putting pressure on log leaders, Red Arrows.

Power have won the last two meetings between the two teams 1-0 and 2-1 but overall in the last 31 meetings, They have each won eleven games with nine ending in draws.

Joshua Mutale will be very crucial in the middle of the park for Abayellow with Chanda Mukuka key for Zega Mambo in that midfield battle.

With a place in continental football at stake, A top of the bill encounter is expected at Arthur Davies Stadium.

BUILDCON VS KANSANSHI

Kansanshi Dynamos will be looking to quickly return to winning ways when they visit the Trade Fair ground to face Buildcon.

Boyd Mulwanda’s men suffered their first defeat in eleven games last weekend losing 2-1 to inconsistent Forest Rangers.

Buildcon on the other hand are searching for their second win in five games.

This fixtures is yet to produce a winner with the last two meetings ending in stalemates.

FOREST RANGERS VS NKANA

13 time Zambia Super League champions, Nkana Wi Square off with Forest Rangers away in Ndola.

Nkana beat Forest Rangers 2-0 in the reverse fixture but that the first time they managed to pick up any point against Fole Malembe since 2019.

Nkana need a win to maintain their top four slot while Forest Rangers need the win to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Nkana will bank on the prowess of Alex Ng’onga in front of goal with the creativity of Harrison Chisala, Patrick Gondwe and Jacob Ngulube.

Forest Rangers have an experienced side led by former Chipolopolo player Clifford Mulenga.

ZANACO VS KABWE WARRIORS

After a disappointing CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign, ZANACO are now fully focused on the local league.

The Bankers welcome the magnificent People’s team, Kabwe Warriors at Sunset Stadium for an explosive affair as Mr Tactical, Chris Kaunda returns to Sunset Stadium.

The Bankers have won their last four meetings with Kabwe Warriors and Kelvin Kaindu will be hoping for this to continue.

Moses Phiri has been in fine form for the Bankers and with 13 goals to his name he will looking to add to that tally.

Kabwe Warriors plays well as a unit but the likes of Prince Mumba, Cephas Mulombwa and Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba have to bring their A game for Warriors to get anything out of this match.
