Green Eagles welcomed Power dynamos new head coach Guston Mutobo to the Super League with a 3-1 bashing in Choma while Nakambala Leopards recorded their first win of the season.
The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week five of action with seven matches taking place across the country.
Green Eagles 3-1 Power Dynamos
Power Dynamos made the long trip to Choma with Guston Mutobo taking charge of his first game. Abayellow was hoping to start Mutobo’s tenure on a good note.
Eagles had other plans as Kennedy Musonda scored the first brace before Shadreck Mulungwe could add a third in the second half. Power dynamos pulled one back late in the match as Warren Kunda scored in his own net but it was too little too late as Eagles managed a comfortable 3-1 win.
Forest Rangers 2-0 Kabwe Warriors
Forest Rangers welcomed Kabwe Warriors to the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in an early kick-off were looking to continue where they left off after beating Nkana one-nil last weekend.
Zikiru Adams and Laurent Muma scored a goal each to help the Perry Mutapa tutored outfit to their second win of the season.
Buildcon 0-0 Zanaco
Buildcon and Sensational Zanaco played out to a goalless draw. Zanaco were without their first choice striking partnership of Chitiya Mususu and Roger Kola.
Kola is out nursing an ankle injury while Mususu despite returning to training was not fit enough to play the match.
Nkana 1-1 Kansanshi Dynamos
Nkana’s poor run of form continued this afternoon as they made it three games without a win. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Kansanshi Dynamos.
Idriss Ilunga Mbombo scored from the penalty spot to level matters and rescue a point after Lazarus Phiri had put the visitors in the lead.
Red Arrows 2-0 Green Buffaloes
Red Arrows’ fantastic start to the 2019/2020 Super League season continued cruised to a 2-0 win over Green Buffaloes. James Chamanga and Evans Musonda scored a goal each to secure maximum points for the Airmen.
Arrows have also leapfrogged Napsa Stars (who play tomorrow)to move to the summit of the log.
KYSA 0-2 Nakambala Leopards
Tanzanian hitman Elias Maguri scored a brace to lead Nakambala Leopards to their first win of the season. The win also takes Nakambala out of the relegation zone.
Nkwazi 0-0 Lumwana Radiants
Nkwazi and Lumwana Radiants played out to a goalless draw at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
