Eagles end ZANACO unbeaten run, Nkana walloped at Nkoloma as Blades and Warriors record wins 

… The ‘Abana Winless’ derby produced four goals and lived up to its name as a draw was the result at the end. 

The MTN Super League entered week 10 of action with some exciting games taking centre stage. Nkana visited Nkoloma Stadium while Eagles welcomed ZANACO. 

Eagles’ handed ZANACO their first loss of the season. Collins Sikombe scored his fourth goal of the season from the penalty spot to hand Eagles their second win at home while ZANACO suffered their first loss this season. 

At Nkoloma Stadium, Kalampa suffered defeat yet again. The Airmen handed Kalampa a 3-0 thumping. 

Saddam Yusuf Phiri scored the opener before Joseph Phiri came off the bench to double the lead in the second half. 

Debutante Jonathan Mada made it a dream debut as he scored the third goal to seal a comfortable 3-0 win for the Airmen. 

The win takes Red Arrows to the summit of the MTN Super League log table leapfrogging the Bankers who succumbed to a narrow 1-0 loss in Choma. 

In Kitwe, Konkola Blades recorded their third win of the season as they beat Mutondo Stars 2-1. 

Quick goals at the start of the second half from Emmanuel Chikaza and Mike Nyangu gave Blades a comfortable win.  The win takes Blades to 6th place with 15 points. 

At Shinde Stadium, Timothy Sakala’s lone goal was enough to give Kabwe Warriors a narrow 1-0 win over Mighty Mufulira Wanderers. 

The win takes the Magnificent People’s team to 18 points and up to third place on the log table. 

In Kabwe, the winless derby ended in a draw as FC Leopards came back from a goal down twice to rescue a point. 

Emmanuel Chabula scored from the penalty spot to cancel out Panji Mwanza’s goal after Thomas Sakala had cancelled out Emmanuel Sichela’s opener.
