CWCL COSAFA Qualifiers: GreenĀ  Buffaloes out to seal semi-final placeĀ 

Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club will be looking to seal their qualification to the Semi-finals of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers this afternoon when they take on Lesotho Defense Force. 

The defending Champions are second in the group with 4 points and need a big win to top the group. 

Coach Carol Kanyemba Daka will be hoping to pull off a master class this afternoon against an opponent desperate to get a win after managing a point in their opening two games. 

Daka is  expected to again make changes to her starting line up. 

Ng’ambo Musole or Eunice Sakala will start between the sticks the ZamFoot Crew understands as Aisha Mbwana will be rested. 

The back four will see Lushomo Mweemba and Agnes Musesa partner with Martha Katila Banda, Esther Siamfuko, Memory Nthala, Diana Banda and Loveness Malunga fighting for the two positions on either side of the central defence. 

In midfield, Daka has options in Judith Zulu, Joana Benaya, Esther Banda, Maweta Chilenga, Lubasi Pumulo and Margaret Chisenga. 

Upfront Xiomara Mapepa, Comfort Selemani, Agnes Phiri, Natasha Nanyangwe and Maylan Mulenga are all available for selection. 

The match will take place at 12h00 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban. 

Should the Zambian Champions qualify to the Semi-finals they will face either Mozambique side Costa Do Sol or Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa

The semi-finals will take place on Wednesday, 6th September, 2023 with the final and the third and fourth will take place two days later.

Only the club that wins this yearā€™s qualifier will advance to the continental competition, which is scheduled to be held in the Ivory Coast from November 5-19.
