Copper Queens return home ahead of Uganda rematch

The Copper Queens have returned to Zambia following their 2-1 defeat by Uganda in the first leg of their 2028 CAF Women’s Olympic qualifying tie.

The team arrived at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola at 11:55 on Friday aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Uganda.

Head coach Charles Haalubono and his squad will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s return leg, with Zambia needing a positive result to keep their Olympic qualification hopes alive.

The decisive encounter will be played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.

Tickets for the match are already on sale through Computicket at all Shoprite outlets.

Prices have been set at K50 for the North, South and East wings, K100 for the West Wing and K300 for VIP seating.

The Copper Queens will be hoping for strong home support as they seek to overturn the first-leg deficit and advance to the next round of the qualifying campaign.
