The Zambia Women’s National has intensified preparations for next month’s International friendly matches against South Korea.
The Copper Queens have been putting in a lot of work with double sessions at Sunset Stadium under the watchful eye of head coach Bruce Mwape.
Mwape is expected to have a strong squad for the April FIFA window with Foreign based players also expected to be available for the assignment.
Mwape will however be without defensive Queenpin Lushomo Mweemba who is currently nursing an injury suffered during the 1-0 loss to YASA Queens.
Joining Lushomo on the sidelines is Esther ‘Gelo’ Banda who sustained an injury in training and is expected to be out for six weeks.
The Copper Queens will face Asian side Korea Republic in two international friendly matches on April 7th and 11th.
The two matches are part of the Copper Queens preparations for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Korea Republic is ranked 17th in the World while Zambia is perched in the 77th position on the global charts.
South Korea is in Group H alongside Morocco, Colombia, and Germany. A match against Zambia will be an opportunity to face African opposition as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
Zambia are in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica.The World Cup will kick off on July 20 in Australia/New Zealand.
