Zambia Women’s National Team forward Misozi Zulu has joined Turkish Women’s Super League side Hakkârigücü Spor Kulübü from Zambian Women’s Super League side Indeni Roses on a one-season-long loan deal with an option of extending the contract.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew from Hakkari in Turkey, Zulu said she is elated about her move and thanked God for opening another door for her despite missing out at the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics owing to an injury.
“I have always believed that even if i didn’t go to the Tokyo Olympics God has better plans for me and i will keep on working hard,” Zulu said.
“During the time when i had an injury, i never gave up on God instead i always told myself and believed in God to see me through that situation and he did it because it wasn’t easy but thanks to him he has opened another door for me and i will keep on working very hard, ” Zulu added.
Zulu who is nicknamed CR7 after the Manchester United and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo will be with the Eastern Turkey based side in the city of Hakkari for the next one year.
This is Zulu’s second stint in Europe even though she was due to join Israeli based side Maccabi Holon last year but the move never materialized. Her first European experience was in 2019 with Kazakhstan Champions BIIK-Kazgurt.
While in Kazakhstan, Zulu became the first Zambian female Footballer to score a goal in the UEFA Women’s Champions League while Kundananji was the second Zambian to do so when BIIK-Kazgurt defeated Finish side Pallokerho-35 Vanta 4-1 on 14th August, 2019 with both Zulu and Kundananji scoring in the 23rd and 60th minute respectively.
